  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: true (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Does this dishwasher have an "open bottom"? My install group are say that they need an "open bottom dishwasher" for installation in my home.

A: Hello, thank you for your question. The PDP715SYNFS dishwasher does not have an open bottom and we apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. When installing the dishwasher, the plumbing and electrical must be located in the shaded area as shown in the installation instructions. This area is at the rear, bottom of the dishwasher and measures 24" x 6" x 4" (WxHxD). If you would like to view the installation instructions for this dishwasher, you can do so on our website. We hope this helps! -Chris@GEA

Q: thinking to install an electric point heater for this DW. How many gallons of hot water do I need to supply? minimum temperature? Would a 4 gallon heater with a 6.8 gallon first hour rating work? Can the DW be used with street water without heating?

A: Hi guyinstilwellks - The amount of water used in our dishwashers has been significantly lowered over the years. Changes have been made to continually make the dishwashers more efficient. Different models vary in the number of gallons used in the different cycles. Water usage on this model varies from 2.4 gallons to 6.6 gallons. Water usage will vary based on turbidity (soil level), including when the upper/lower Wash Zones are used. Dishwashers must be connected to hot water line only. Generally, the entering water in a dishwasher should be at least 120°F. This model has Automatic Hot Start. Water coming into the dishwasher may be as low as 95 degrees F and this feature will help raise the temperature to the required 120 degrees F. If the incoming water temperature is too low, the Auto Hot Start feature may add up to 25 minutes of additional time. We hope this is helpful. Thanks for considering GE Profile! Keep in touch at geappliances.com. Sue
