Best Buy for the win! on open box excellent.

I had a Pny 5070ti oc card that was a great card but i sold it for as i wanted a 5080 to push my 4k 160hz monitor. i was looking at getting a Asus astral card and the location i went to had one in stock but i happened to see they had this gigabyte card sitting in the case marked as open box excellent. i asked the rep at best buy for the price as the store didn't even show they had it in stock on the website. when he said the price was $759 i bought it right there on the spot. i opened the box to inspect and the card was still factory seal never used. a $1500 dollar gpu for $759 was well worth the upgrade as i sold the old card for $750. now for the card it is massive/heavy and well built. i have it in a lian li dan a3 wd case and it barely fits in the case as it takes up 4 slots. this card is bigger than the sapphire nitro 7900xtx i had. if you want a good card look at getting this it performs well runs cools around 67c and is quiet and pulls around 275-300watts under load.

Extremely fast, well binned, quiet & cool - Nice!!

Nail-bitin' time to be buying GPUs, ain't it? Best Buy got this one to me in a week and a day after ordering, and had a better price than any of the major competitors online. First thing I did when I got it in was see how far I could overclock it - about +450 on the core when raising the voltage, resulting in up to 3300MHz gaming clocks, and an easy +2000mhz on the VRAM with the score going up repeatably the whole time (that is, not running into ECC issues, it just HAS that speed in it). Still running pretty cool, too, they really overbuilt the cooler on this gigantic card! Next, I found a sweet spot undervolting it that retained the vast majority of performance gains but tightens up voltage to about 0.985V max. Manually adjusting the F/V curve has great results with this card, allowing you to That was good for anywhere from 50W-80W power draw reduction, and even cooler temperatures, while still staying above 24000 in 3DMark Port Royal (which was my target after OCing got me into the mid 24000s). I have attached a screenshot of all benchmarks run on my PC so you can see what I'm working with. Please note, I work on audio with this PC, and I prioritize low noise from it. My 12900K processor in it is, as you can see from pics, air-cooled, and wattage limited to no more than 250W, with a temperature limit of no more than 90ºC (which is 10 degrees cooler than stock limits), which does result in slightly worse scores than other 12900K users who have water cooling and are pumping 300-400W into the same CPU. The 5080 replaced an AMD 9070 XT, which topped out at about 19500 on Port Royal after overclocking. That card replaced a Ventus 3080 12GB, which with its restricted power delivery managed about 12K in the same benchmark when undervolted. As you can imagine, the 5080 has been an absolutely thunderous upgrade in gaming, allowing me to play games in 4K with RT on which I never was able to do before.

    It's not worth the money

I previously had a 7900xt and an rtx 5070 in a different PC. When paired with my ryzen 7 9800x3d and 64 gigs of ram, I felt like I needed more out of my gpu. Don't get me wrong, it's a little faster. But for more than twice the money of my 5070? Absolutely not. I've been a person who has always bought the second fastest card. That was the 70 series in the past. When Nvidia created the 90 series cards, all they did was give the performance of the 80 series cards to the 90 series and then pretend like they did something special so they could charge more money. Don't be like me. Get the 5070 and an oled 1440p monitor and you'll be set for a long time. Also, for my particular instance, I had to pull out one of my older much larger cases to be able to fit it. It was lucky that it was a vertical mount so I didn't have to brace it. But if you plan on maintaining it horizontally you will absolutely need to brace it.

    Phenomenal Card.

I am in love with this card. I never see my card go above 65C, its super quiet. My AIO is louder. got a 2868 score in timespy 3d benchmarks out of the box, most 5080s get a 2400-2600 score. The octopus adapter it comes with stops voltage sag etc. Super worth it, but I did get a 10% discount off it. Wish it were a bit cheaper. but i am super happy with it.

Absolute beast for 4K gaming and VR

I decided to upgrade my rig with this RTX 5080 Gaming OC, and the performance leap has been incredible. I have it paired with a Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and they work perfectly together—absolutely no bottlenecks. I’ve been testing it thoroughly with titles like Assassin's Creed Mirage and Call of Duty, and it handles everything on Ultra settings with impressive fluidity. Another huge plus is the VR performance; I use it with my Meta Quest 3, and the image stability is on another level compared to my previous card. Regarding this specific 'Gaming OC' model, I was pleasantly surprised by how cool and quiet it stays, even when I’m pushing it hard during long sessions. If you're looking for raw power for high-end gaming, I 100% recommend it.
