I bought this ahead of when I needed to change the filter and then the pandemic hit so now close to three months later I went to change the filter and I watch a video and I see the blue cap that needed to be removed in order to put the original and realize this is definitely the wrong filter and of course the website says past return time but still in sealed package unused

The Insignia replacement water filter for Whirlpool fridges produces crisp, clean tasting water. I tried other cheaper filter replacements after having a hard time finding a whirlpool brand water filter. The other cheap filters often made the water taste funny. The Insignia filters have worked just as well as the original Whirlpool models.

I ordered this filter because of all the good reviews. It was a big mistake! I had 2 delivered through the subscription service. I installed one and after running 5 gallons of water through the filter, there was still particulate in the water. I decided that it might just be a bad filter. I installed the other filter and after running 5 gallons of water through it, same problem! These are not good filters. I had to go back to the Everydrop filter, but the Everydrop brand wasn’t available in the store and was only available through shipping, so I had to buy it through another retailer. I needed the filter right away, otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to get drinking water from the fridge. It was so aggravating and a waste of my time and money! I’ll remember to only buy brand name going forward.
