Q: Does this keyboard turn off?
A: It does not turn off. There is only a button on the underside of the keyboard to initiate the wireless connection. I do not know how long the batteries will last because the alpha keys quit working after only 9 days so I returned mine for an upgrade.
Q: Does this keyboard work on a computer with XP operating system?
A: Yes, will work with windows XP, I'm not sure about the calculator shortcut but should be fine.
