The Klipsch CDT-5800-C II maintains the core technology use of a premium 1” Titanium compression driver (tweeter) mated to an exclusive Tractrix Horn combined with a large 8” Cerametallic woofer in a 2-way design. Now with a new low-profile, more elegant grille and refinements to both high frequency and low frequency reproduction, it continues as a high-performance choice for everything from 2-channel music playback to full, large room surround sound use.
A: I have these for my in ceiling rear speakers for a 5.1 setup and they sound great. I think they would also work well in a 7.1 setup.

However, we can recommend reaching out to any local audio/video installation company for assistance with installation of the speakers. Q: Is it a pair or just a single speaker
A: The CDT-5800-C II is sold individually (single speaker).
A: No, this is the CDT-5800-C II
Q: Would this speaker perform good as a center channel speaker in the 5 channel setup?
A: I did not use the speaker as a center channel but. Here is a couple of things to think about with using it at a center channel speaker: 1. Direction, it may not project the speech as well as a speaker facing you. Wall mounted may work better than ceiling mounted. 2. Compare the frequency response with this speaker and their center channel speaker to see if they are similar. You would want one that promotes speech over other parts of the sound track.
Customers are impressed with the CDT-5800-C II's sound quality. Many users describe the speakers as awesome sounding. There are no cons mentioned about this product.
These speakers are great, I bought two for surround speakers and then I bought two more to expand to 7.1 system. I have to tell you these speaker are really really good. Both the tweeter and 8" Cerametallic woofer can be angled to direct sound toward the seating area. They can be startling when watching a 4k dvd movie and worth the money. I am powering mine with a Denon receiver that provides 125 watts per channel and they will blow your doors in at 60% power. Love these speakers.

A nice upgrade over my old Atmos speakers. Loud, clear, and easy to use. Great quality for the monkey.
