LeAnn Rimes - Early Years: Unchained Melody - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Of all the husband/wife duos in Country Music, WILMA LEE & STONEY COOPER enjoyed one of the more extraordinary careers, being operative from the late 30s until Stoney's death, in 1977. Remarkably, throughout this period they continued to perform in a traditional, old school Appalachian Mountain music style, ignoring all contemporary trends, registering their biggest hits in the late 50s, directly in the teeth of Rock & Roll, Rockabilly and the newly-emergent Nashville Countrypolitan sound. In 1974, Wilma Lee was awarded the title of InchThe First Lady Of BluegrassInch by the Smithsonian Institute. This compilation presents the Very Best of their singles for Hickory Records, between 1955-62, which includes a dozen C&W chart hits and several sides which are difficult to find elsewhere on CD.

The music and the response are certainly impressive, but who could have believed that this mature, richly textured voice could be emanating from a mere 13-year old. In fact, the version of InchBlueInch being played on radio all over the country was recorded when LeAnn was 12 years old. It is predicted that, despite her youth, LeAnn Rimes is one of the very few new artists in the genre that will stand out from the crowd. First single/video InchBlue.Inch Other emphasis tracks include InchHurt MeInch and InchThe Light in Your Eyes.Inch

Twisted Angel now takes LeAnn into new InchPopInch dimension with songs produced by such luminaries as Desmon Child (Life Goes On), Peter Amato (of Baha Men Fame), and Gregg Pagani.
