    Amazing Laptop

LG - gram Pro Max 17" 144Hz Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop WQXGA Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 386H, RTX 5050, 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Brushed Bronze Out of the box this is a surprisingly lightweight laptop for a 17” and is a very slim laptop weighing in at under 4 pounds. The Brushed Bronze finish gives the LG – gram a great look and seems to be fingerprint resistant. With all of the handling during unpackaging and setting up the LG Gram, there were no fingerprints visible on the exterior. Right side of the LG Gram has a Headphone out jack and (2) USB 3.2 Gen1 ports. It convenient having the (2) 3.2 Gen1 ports, gives you versatility with connecting devices. Left side of the LG Gram has a (1) HDMI port and (2) USB 4 Gen3x2 Type C (Thunderbolt 40 ports) for charging and Type C USB connections. The keyboard is standard and works well, being 17” is great for larger hands! The addition 10 key is nice when working with spreadsheets and a lot of numbers. The LG Gram has (2) fans that are generally very quiet. I heard the right-side fan one time and that was during the initial set up of the laptop. The LG Gram is crafted with Aerominum, Aerominum is an LG in-house engineered alloy designed to be tough yet light weight. The is no fingerprint reader which was a little disappointing however you can log-in with your pin number or facial recognition. The facial recognition is extremely accurate and fast. Start up was simple and easy, there is no clutter with additional unnecessary apps. All the basics are there making it quick to start up and begin using the LG Gram. Fast is an understatement with the LG Gram. Working with music playing, 11 spreadsheets running, multiple open internet sites (7 tabs), and multiple videos and photos open, the LG Gram never slowed down, it remained very quick and responsive. Also great for photo and video editing. The Dolby Atmos 3D Surround Sound is incredible with a great deal of adjustably to meet the sounds of your choosing. The videos and photos are displayed in high resolution. Great for sharp crisp images and beautiful videos and graphics. Excellent for multitasking, cannot say enough regarding the speed and versatility of the LG Gram. Handles multiple heavy applications simultaneously without faltering. If you like/use a touch screen you’ll find the IPS allows good touch screen abilities and at 17” large workspace. Being that the LG Gram can only be open to a certain degree I don’t find the touch screen a big advantage for me. I have one laptop that opens 360 and is great for using the touch screen capabilities. The LG Gram has rubber feet, won’t slide on table or countertop, remains extremely stable. The AI is simple and easy yet very precise and fun to work with, whether you are using AI to help with projects or just needing some quick answers to your questions. Carrying on a conversation with the AI is one of the things we thought were very futuristic however we now can and with amazing abilities. The LG Gram’s Dual AI apparently combines On-Device and Cloud AI. With the power supply unplugged, I ran a 15-hour day, closed the lid, started up the next day and still displayed 5+ hours of running time. Remember that I was running extreme programs/workloads during the biggest time of operation. LG Gram’s AI can help you find information quickly even when you are offline. There is another cool option and that is the recall button that can help you find, recall, recent website searches, documents, spreadsheets, etc. With the touch of a button a window will open with recent activities, even listed when you worked on them last and for how long. The LG Gram will take constant snap shots and hold them in a storage space. You can adjust how you want this function to work or you can shut it off, up to you. You can also adjust perimeters such as filtering what is “snapshot” by filtering apps and websites based on your wants/needs. You can manage this physically or verbally with AI assistance. Comes with layers of Windows hardware-based security, and I have used Windows for years of security with no issues to date. Refresh rates adapt from 31Hz to 144Hz which is incredible for fluid transitions, quick responses, and great video. LG gram Link is a cool feature for sharing files or in my case moved all my information off one laptop to the LG Gram during startup of the LG Gram. Remote Security with LG ThinQ With the LG ThinQ app downloaded to you phone you can remotely lock your LG gram and protect your data if your laptop is ever misplaced. Apparently, you can erase information off the LG Gram to help prevent anyone from accessing your information. And now a days with most of us using the cloud for storage, removing/deleting information from the LG Gram would not be much more than a little inconvenience. This would be a great relief knowing that no one would have access to your, personal information, files, photos, etc. There is so much to the new LG - gram Pro Max 17" 144Hz Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop WQXGA Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 386H, RTX 5050, 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD that a person would spend weeks diving into all the abilities of this laptop.

THIS LG GRAM 17" PRO MAX IS THE BEST!

I received my LG Gram Pro Max 17" laptop featuring a WQXGA touch screen, Windows 11 Home 64-bit, and powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 3 Processor (386H). It comes equipped with 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 dedicated graphics card. The packaging was tidy and included the owner's manual, warranty information, and accessory pamphlets. The power supply uses a USB-C to USB-C cable, with a USB-C port on the charger brick and a regular plug on the other end. Given its large screen size, I was impressed by how lightweight it is, weighing only 3.84 pounds, which makes it very portable. The metal casing in a striking Brushed Bronze finish feels much sturdier than previous plastic models and resists fingerprints effectively. The display is an IPS panel, complemented by a full keyboard with a numeric keypad. I particularly appreciate the comfortable spacing and tactile feel of the keys while typing. The laptop includes a backlit keyboard; however, the backlight is initially off and needs to be manually enabled via PC Maintenance Keyboard settings, where you can choose between low or high brightness, as well as configure timeout options. The touchpad exceeded my expectations in size and responsiveness, and the touch screen itself performs smoothly as well. Before beginning setup, I fully charged the device. During the process, several updates were installed. I opted for a new PC setup and selected Entertainment, Gaming and Creativity as my primary use cases, though the system offers many other options. It incorporates the latest AI enhancements and additional features. Audio quality on this laptop is exceptional, thanks to Dolby Atmos technology. When watching movies, the sound surrounds you so effectively that I found myself turning my head to follow it. I’m not sure how LG achieved this immersive experience, but it definitely works. Testing sound across various platforms like YouTube, films, and the Singsnap website yielded consistently impressive results. No lag in any of the videos, games or streaming shows I chose. Stayed connected to my WiFi without a hitch as well. LG also provides LG CHANNELS, which offers access to Live TV, News, Movies, Drama, Entertainment, Sports, Comedy, and Lifestyle content, adding extra value. Another standout aspect is the near absence of fan noise ~ quite remarkable for a laptop this large and a relief to my ears! Temperature management is excellent, as the laptop remains cool even under heavy use and during updates. I checked the bottom frequently, finding it pleasantly cool to the touch ~ an advantage over many other laptops I have owned. Additionally, this model is Energy Star certified. In summary, LG has delivered an outstanding product. This is, without a doubt, the best laptop I own. Though it comes with a premium price tag, the superior build quality and features make it thoroughly worthwhile. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a top-tier laptop!

    Thin & powerful

This laptop is seriously impressive. The LG Gram Pro Max (GPM, Gram etc.) packs impressive specs into a very small package. I did some research on the 386H CPU included in this laptop and found that it is one of the newest chips Intel has released this year with excellent power. The GPU is a RTX 5050 that is labeled as a lower end gaming card. With the Gram having a top tier CPU, this laptop is about as good as you would want for a non gaming laptop. LG also put in 32 GB of RAM with a 1 TB SSD which should be adequate for use with the GPM. I did some testing on the RTX 5050 just to see what the entry level laptop can do. I have included some pictures I took off my monitor at a resolution of 1440, however the Gram can go to 1600 resolution by default. Funny enough, playing most games on a widescreen monitor will fit better at 1440. I booted up Cyberpunk 2077 not expecting much at all, but was blown away by just how good the game looked running on the RTX 5050. Judge yourself on the pictures I have taken. The 5050 seems like it can handle all but the newest games really. While I was overall very impressed by the performance, this does come at a cost, a rather hefty one, especially with the volatility in building RAM this year. This means that LG priced this at around $2500. Ouch. With this price, LG might be pricing this out of reach for most college students for example. If you do decide on this specific Gram Pro, you won’t be disappointed in the long run. I do recommend this laptop overall. Top of the line specs with an equally expensive price tag, this feels more on the premium side of laptops. I plan on having this for many years in the future, so I for one am very pleased.

A performant portable gaming capable laptop.

LG - gram Pro Max 17 144Hz Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop WQXGA Summary: A performant portable gaming capable laptop. Use: The primary reason for the LG Gram selection is that it is extremely mobile. It is ridiculously light for the hardware packed inside. It allows us to take it wherever we need to get some game time in. :) Having said that, its substantially better specifications also allow me to execute more traditional workloads for my profession. For example, the extra RAM and modestly larger disk allow for me to setup lab virtual environments for testing software. But the RAM and CPU help most for its regular use - games where GPU aren't yet a bottleneck. Older games like World of Warcraft, for instance. This unit is replacing an aging MSI gaming laptop operating with a 1080P display and RTX4050, Ryzen 5/16GB processor and RAM. As we use the MSI to primarily play games like Hogwarts, Destiny 2, and World of Warcraft - comparisons are mostly defined by the same uses. We have attached a 4K display to it for use and that alters the calculus somewhat - so we're still navigating the tweaks. Since this unit is so light, let's start there. It's something over 3 pounds! That doesn't seem like much or a little until you pick up virtually any other laptop in our household. Alienware, MSI, ASUS, Samsung (is dang close!). The Gram might make you think that its weight truly is its namesake. Bundling all of this hardware so tightly into a shell has some implications, though. One of our concerns was airflow and heat dissipation. The unit has micro perforations along its base and a ridge vent in between the top edge of the keyboard and the base of the display. This allows it to pull in air from the bottom and expel it from the top. I think this could be dangerous for folks that actually use their machines as lap tops. :) But we use them on flat surfaces, or ventilated surfaces. When used like this, the unit performs well and heat dissipation doesn't seem to be an issue. Prolonged gaming sessions, particularly at 4K maximum settings, can change that and you'll eventually hear the active cooling spin up to do its job. With a intel Core 9 and 32 GB of RAM you have what I think should be a new baseline for minimums. Enough CPU to do heavier daily workloads (professionally, local AI, etc.) and the RAM to run more programs simultaneously. For games, this just boils down to better performance. The 1TB SSD, while *minimally* sized, is enough to get a selection of games installed and combined with CPU and RAM startup pretty danged fast. The GPU is a NVidia RTX5050. It is a mobile GPU is targeted at midrange gamers like us. Due to the display differences between other household laptops, and even the 4K external (plus other hardware differences), I couldn't measure the performance differences directly. However, we did see frame rates generally improve when we moved to the LG Gram. For CPU limited games like WoW, this is because of the CPU, for games like Destiny 2, the newer RTX5050 the primary driver. For the 4K external display, we noticed slightly improved frame rates at maximum settings for various games. But we're only talking about 10 or so FPS. Scaling down display resolution, or game settings can wildly impact performance and that is what we're still learning to tweak. On paper, the RTX5050 can offer up to a 40%-80% improvement to the RTX4050. But in practice, with the settings and resolutions we'll use, I think we're going to see a more modest 10-20%. Build quality is exceptional. We've owned/own several LG appliances, computers, displays, and even home theatre projectors over the years. Their products feature top not engineering and performance. This unit feels substantial, but not in a bulky burdensome way. It feels good to hold. But it is lightweight. The screen finish is glossy (I can't decide how I feel about these types of screens!), and touchpad and keyboard feel appropriately sized for the unit. The keyboard isn't full sized, but keys are arranged in a way that almost makes it seem as if it is. The touch screen remains a novelty in our home for laptops. If this were a tablet, I'd say it is excellent. It is responsive and performs well. However, its form factor makes it unlikely that we'll use the touchscreen regularly. Despite the supremely svelte form factor, the unit does offer an array of connectivity options: 2x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) ports, 2x USB-A 3.x, HDMI, headphone, Bluetooth 5.4+, and 2.5Gb Wi-Fi 7 capable wireless networking. While we'll miss the RJ-45 port, it isn't a deal breaker, and with the Thunderbolt ports, we can connect any array of devices we want (including RJ-45) using our peripheral (Thunderbolt/ USB-C) docks. This unit also responds flawlessly to the external 4K display in mirror, extend, or secondary display only modes. We haven't had issues with sleep mode or even janky issues with DisplayPort Alt Mode. This mode allows the laptop's discreet GPU to drive the external display (vs. dock chipset which would be terrible for games). Pros: * LIGHT WEIGHT! * Performance. Despite its form factor, the performance of this unit is fantastic. It is quiet, keeps cool, and allows us to play games while mobile even easier than before. * Specifications. This unit doesn't sacrifice too much for its form factor or price point. It packs a punch with its processor, GPU, memory, connectivity options, and display. The unit also drives an external 4K display just fine - though for maximum settings on games we have to throttle back a few settings for an acceptable frame rate. This would be an issue for most laptops in this range. * Keyboard/Mouse. The keyboard and mouse on the unit are adequately sized and almost offer a full-sized keyboard experience. Actually, depending on what kind of keyboard you already use - it may be "full sized." :D This means transitioning to it will be trivial. Cons: * Cost. This is really a non-issue for me - but I want to acknowledge that it could be for some. There are competing products that can get you more gaming for the buck, but the tradeoff is quality, brand trust, and portability. I can see cost being an issue for midrange gamers that care about gaming first and foremost. But if you use your laptops for work, other productivity needs, local AI work, virtual labs, etc., then the calculus changes turning this into a good buy.

    Lightweight machine with some power

The LG Gram Pro Max 17" packs quiet a lot of power in a sleek package. Crossing this on the store shelves you wouldn't be able to tell it's powered with an Intel Core Ultra 9, RTX5050 and 32GB of RAM. The WQXGA IPS screen has a 31-144Hz Variable Refresh Rate is also a Touch Screen. In the box, you get a reasonably sized 140W Fast Charger, which connects to the laptop over a USB-C to C cable, plus some information and manuals neatly packages inside. On the left side of the laptop, you have 2 x USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports (You can plug the charger in to either one) plus an HDMI 2.1 port. On the right side you have a head phone jack along side 2 x USB-A 3.2 ports. The brushed bronze finishes adds a touch of style to the laptop, once opened you're presented with the beautiful touchscreen and massive touchscreen, both of which are multitouch allowing you to pinch to zoom or scroll on both. The keyboard also features a 10 key, which I appreciate, there is also no speaker grills around the keyboard keeping the look clean. First thing I did after setting up Windows 11, which is Home Copilot+, was install steam and some games along side my Windows, graphics and various other updates. While running updates, I was looking at the various shortcuts on the keyboard. There are the usual Brightness, volume and even backlit FN on the F- keys, there is also a dedicated Copilot key. One other shortcut I noticed was pressing the FN and Spacebar together brought up the Gram Chat On-Device, this AI doesn't only help you search for information, it can also help you adjust settings, find files on the machine based on variables you present or even help you troubleshoot your device! I used it to help make a few changes to windows that fit my preference, I also like that Gram Chat can execute the changes for you, not simply provide the how to or open a window for you to make the change yourself saving you from having to dig through settings. With the size and weight of this laptop, you almost forget it has the power to game! I have been on Forza Horizon 6 most of the time I game since it released, with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 I had no problem gaming for hours on this machine. I eventually adjusted the power settings to provide best performance while plugged in and Balanced on Battery. Initially I was running completely on Balanced keeping a steady frame rate on Medium settings at 2560x1600, I am going to play again tonight seeing how it differs on Performance, with my experience this far, I only expect it to do better! The laptop speakers are located on the bottom left and right side, during my setup and installation I played some music on them, even at full blast they're perfectly listenable but I always keep them turned down a touch. As I was chatting on discord and playing the Forza, I had my headset on. Overall the laptop is amazing! I have simply been enjoying it at home but looking forward to take this on the road shortly during summer. LG did an amazing job, the combination of weight, size and power create a wonderful gaming and multitasking experience!

Questions & Answers
  • I received this laptop today and I was surprised to find it has a glossy OLED not a Matte IPS. The box it comes in clearly states IPS display. Did LG change what they are shipping or did I get a one of a kind?

LG did not change what they are shipping. The LG gram Pro Max 17 Inch Copilot+ PC, Windows 11 Home, Lightweight Dual AI Touchscreen Laptop, Intel® Core™ Ultra 9, NVIDIA RTX 5050, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Bronze, Model # 17Z90UR-P.AU99U3, does not have an OLED panel, so it does not have an OLED screen. It is an IPS touchscreen display, as indicated on the carton it ships in, but while many LG gram laptops feature anti-glare coatings, touch-enabled screens on this line often have a glossy or semi-glossy finish to facilitate the touch functionality, rather than a traditional matte finish...^Ivan.

  • LG - gram Pro Max 17" 144Hz Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop WQXGA Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 386H, RTX 5050, 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Brushed Bronze How many external monitors through a docking station can this model support?

Hi, Gary! Thank you for sharing your question to us about the LG Gram Laptop (17Z90UR-P.AU99U3). This model can handle up to two external monitors through a single docking station. You can also bypass the dock and drive three independent displays simultaneously — the laptop’s 17" screen plus two external monitors — by using the dedicated ports on the unit. For the best setup, we recommend using a Thunderbolt 4 docking station to ensure stable multi‑monitor output, and confirming your monitors are connected via DisplayPort or HDMI ports on the dock. • LG has only one LG gram Pro laptop with the Aerominum body and NVIDIA RTX 5050 graphics. Will LG put an NVIDIA RTX 5050 graphics card in any other 2026 laptops?

Hello there, Rayventor! Thank you for reaching out about the LG Gram Laptop (17Z90UR‑P) and the future availability of LG Gram Pro models with NVIDIA RTX 5050 graphics. We appreciate your interest in upcoming LG laptops, and I’m glad to help clarify what’s currently known. At this time, LG has not announced any additional 2026 Gram or Gram Pro models that will include the NVIDIA RTX 5050 beyond the configuration already offered. • What is the exact wireless chipset in this laptop? Do you have the FCC ID or module part number?

The FCC ID listed in LG Electronics USA, Inc.’s official filings for the LG gram Pro Max 17" 144Hz Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop WQXGA Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 386H, RTX 5050, 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Brushed Bronze, Model # 17Z90UR-P.AU99U3, is BEJNT‑17Z90TR. This FCC ID is assigned to the device under the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity process, which means it is registered with the FCC but not filed in the public Equipment Authorization database. This is common for many consumer electronics, especially when the manufacturer certifies compliance internally. You can search the FCC ID BEJNT‑17Z90TR on the FCC’s official FCC ID search tool at fccid.io or gov.fccid.io to see if it appears in the database. If it does not appear, that is normal for devices under the Supplier’s Declaration process. They are not required to be filed in the public database...^Ivan.
