LG Electronics was founded in 1958 as Goldstar. Today, LG is a global leader in OLED televisions, cutting-edge soundbars & Ai-powered Dolby Atmos sound systems. The latest LG innovation is a sound suite that lets you build your system as your budget and enthusiasm for greater cinematic audio grows. The LG Sound Suite W7 wireless subwoofer is engineered to interface with either the LG H7 Soundbar with FlexConnect, or one of the latest LG OLED TVs with FlexConnect: G5, C5, CS5, or the QNED9M Mini LED TV. I connected it to my LG 65" G5 OLED TV, in addition to 2) LG M7 Dolby Atmos speakers. Connection is very easy, using FlexConnect that is built into the LG TV. You simply choose FlexConnect as the audio output path & follow the instructions. The W7 subwoofer is absolutely amazing! It is a premium quality speaker, as you would expect from LG. Once you hear it, you wonder how you ever enjoyed the cinematic experience without it. The bass is high intensity, yet is precise, accurate & not boomy. W7 is designed for vertical or horizontal positioning, and even includes 4 suction mounted feet to elevate it above the floor in horizontal applications. This provides an air gap that prevents any annoying rattle from the speaker against the floor during deep bass excursions. W7 measures 16.3"H x 16.1"W x 7.6"D & weighs a hefty 19.4 pounds. A premium Peerless 8" driver produces the impactful hard-hitting bass. CONCLUSION: LG W7 Wireless Subwoofer is an essential component to complete the LG Sound Suite with thundering sub-bass impact. It earns my highest recommendation.

When LG announced the Dolby Atmos SoundSuite audio system it immediately caught my attention and how it can seamlessly be connected with my LG C5 65In OLED Tv. I’m currently running the W7 Subwoofer alongside two of the LG M7 speakers while using the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect (DAFC) and I'm honestly shocked at just how good the sound is with this pairing. This was a huge selling point due to the wireless connectivity and not having to run wires through the walls. The setup process is pretty simple. Once the subwoofer is plugged in and is powered on, you just go into the “Sound Out” audio settings on your TV, scroll over to “Dolby Atmos FlexConnect” and select “Start Setting” press the circle button down on the subwoofer to to put it into paring mode and it will pop up on the TV to be paired alongside with your LG M7 or M5 speakers. Once the speakers and the sub are selected, you can then run the calibration process. After the calibration finishes, everything is synced and ready to go. What makes this technology truly impressive is that the TV automatically analyzes the room and tunes the speakers and subwoofer accordingly, creating a balanced audio environment without needing a receiver or complicated wiring. It’s worth noting that the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect system currently only works on certain supported models, including the 2025 OLED G5, C5, CS5, and QNED 9M, along with the new select 2026 LG models, so compatibility is something to keep in mind when planning on purchasing this without the H7 Soundbar. I did run into a little speed bump during the setup of the W7 Sub, because I got the M7 speakers first, my initial thought was that I also had to connect the W7 Sub through the LG Connect app before pairing it on the TV. I assumed the subwoofer could be paired and controlled also through the app, but that option is actually only available if you’re using the H7 soundbar (On the product feature page for the W7, it explains this in the very fine print). Since my current setup runs entirely through the C5 TV’s Dolby Atmos FlexConnect system, the subwoofer will not appear in the app. Because I’m going directly through the TV connection you are not able to actually manually adjust the bass levels directly from the TV, which would have been nice to have some control in the TV audio settings for the sub. That being said, I do plan on adding the H7 soundbar later this year, which will unlock that functionality. One of the things I really like about the W7 is its versatile design and placement options. Unlike most traditional subwoofers that are meant to stand upright beside a TV, the W7 can also be laid flat. It comes with four rubber pads so you can place it horizontally without scratching the surface of the unit or your floor. This allows you to position the W7 in places that typical subwoofers wouldn’t fit, including places like under a couch, which lets the bass resonate directly through the seating area so you can actually feel the rumble during movies or games. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test this because my couch doesn’t have enough clearance for me to properly test that setup, but it’s still a really cool option for people whose furniture allows it. When paired with the two M7 speakers, the W7 sub adds a level of depth that makes a noticeable difference in the overall sound experience. The subwoofer uses a powerful 8in driver where LG has teamed up with Peerless, a company with over a century of experience in acoustic design. In use, this translates to deep, full bass that fills the room without overpowering the rest of the audio. Even at lower volumes the system maintains clarity in dialogue while still delivering a strong low end presence. During big action scenes and movie soundtracks, the bass becomes a lot more dynamic, adding that theater style punch that you can feel. Another selling point I really appreciate about LG’s Sound Suite ecosystem is how modular it is. Instead of forcing you to buy a complete surround system all at once, LG allows you to build it exactly how you want with the path to upgrade over time. You can start with the speakers, add the subwoofer later, and eventually incorporate the soundbar if you want to expand the system even further. To enable Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, you do need at least 1x M7 speaker or 2x M5 speakers, which then allows the TV to coordinate the rest of the system. NOTE: The Sub will not work with only the TV. Pros Easy setup through Dolby Atmos FlexConnect Completely wireless connection over Wi-Fi Deep, powerful bass from the 8inch woofer Can be placed vertically or laid flat Works seamlessly with LG Sound Suite speakers Modular system that can be expanded over time Cons Cannot be controlled through the LG Connect app unless paired with the H7 soundbar Requires at least one M7 or two M5 speakers to enable FlexConnect On TVs Dolby Atmos FlexConnect only works with Select LG TVs Overall, the LG Sound Suite W7 Wireless Subwoofer has been a great addition to my setup. Paired with my LG C5 65in OLED and 2x M7 speakers. The sub delivers deep, impactful bass that adds a lot more immersion to movies, shows, and games. The simplicity of Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, the flexibility of the design, and the ability to expand the system over time make it a really compelling option for anyone invested in LG’s newer audio ecosystem.

I believe in the LG ecosystem because, as someone with extensive experience, it works seamlessly and delivers a stable, smooth performance. The LG Sound Suite W7 subwoofer is no exception, as it perfectly complements the new LG M7 FlexConnect wireless speakers. Upon unboxing the W7 subwoofer, I was surprised by its size. However, its spaceship-like design gives it a sleek, modern look that blends perfectly with my home setup. The setup process is straightforward and requires minimal effort. It comes with a power cable and an additional placement foot, allowing for flexible positioning either vertically or on its side. Once I plugged in the power cable, I turned on my LG OLED C5 TV and navigated to the sound settings to change the audio output to Dolby Atmos FlexConnect (DAFC). From there, I grouped my two LG M7 speakers with the W7 subwoofer and proceeded with room sound recalibration. The entire process took about two minutes, and everything was up and running. The setup is clean and completely cable-free, with all components connected wirelessly. This not only simplifies placement but also maintains a minimal, clutter-free look, which is something I truly appreciate. The W7 subwoofer delivers excellent bass performance. I tested it while watching an F1 movie, and the experience was incredibly immersive. The tire screeches and engine revs sounded immersive, and the spatial audio added a true 360-degree audio experience. I’m truly impressed. The LG Sound Suite FlexConnect system, along with the W7 subwoofer, is a must-have for completing the Dolby Atmos spatial audio experience. The only drawback is its limited compatibility. Unlike traditional subwoofers I’ve used before, this subwoofer lacks flexibility. The W7 works only with compatible LG devices, such as newer TVs and soundbars that support DAFC. Overall, my experience with the LG Sound Suite W7 has been excellent. I’m fully invested in LG’s ecosystem and truly appreciate the seamless, cable-free experience it provides.
