A: Contrary to what Venette from LG has been answering on the questions here, NO the SPQ8-S rear speakers cannot connect to the SP8YA soundbar. Just tried to do it myself as I was told both by the in store employee and from the Q&As here that they would be compatible with any LG soundbar. However, per the manual that comes with the rear speakers, they are only compatibly with the following models: S90QY, DS90QY, DS90QY, S80QY, S80QY, DS80QY, DS80QY.

A: LG's answer is wrong. The speakers connect to the SPQ8 receiver via speaker wires. The receiver connects to the soundbar wirelessly.
