A: When you use the optical connection, that is independent of your TV speakers. The feed to your headsets will continue no matter what you do with the speaker output of your TV, such as raise or lower volume, or mute the sound. The optical connection is also the fastest one. I use optical for all those benefits, which you don't get if you use the RCA or Aux wired connections.
