Microsoft Surface Pro 4 that comes with a black Surface Type Cover has a 12.3" HD touch screen and you can use the Surface Pen (sold separately) to navigate web pages, write and upload content and play games. Q: I'm not seeing the amount of RAM on this listing. Can you advise?
A: This surface has 4gb of ram.
Q: Why does this one come with the keyboard and it cheaper?
A: Its a bundle microsoft is rolling out
Q: Does this run hot to the touch?
A: Yes. Even after a few minutes it was hot, and battery ran out after several hours. We exchanged for a new one yesterday.
Q: Can you increase the RAM from 4 to 12 GB?
A: Ram is soldered onto the motherboard
A: Yes, itunes works on Windows operating systems as well. You just need to download it and install, it's free.
A: No. The pen does not come in the bundle
Q: Is this the new versions or the old surface pro 4 version?
A: The new version is just called a "Surface Pro". It would be the 5 if they used a number. The new Pro uses the same named processors, they are just the next generation of same. So a new Pro 4 with an I5 processor will run about 10% slower than a new Pro with an I5. You can't tell the difference between a new Pro and a Pro 4 just looking at them. I bought a Pro 4 for my wife today because of the price point and she just uses it for email, web surfing, and updating her Realtor wireless key.
Q: would I be able to use AutoCAD on this?
A: I think it would be questionable and depend on what version of Autocad. This particular Surface Pro has 4GB of memory and the requirements for 64bit Autocad 2016 are given as 4GB minimum but 8 GB recommended. Also note that this system has only a USB port and microSD card slot but no optical drive so, depending on what media your copy of Autocad is on, you might have a problem installing from it.
