Q: Is this lens compatible with Z6 Mirrorless Camera? What is the benefit of the 28-300 compared to the 18-300?

A: The Nikon Z 6 is compatible with a wide variety of F-mount lenses when the Mount Adapter FTZ is attached to it. Both the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5 -5.6G ED VR Standard Zoom lens and the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR lens are designed to capture sharp and vibrant subjects near and far; however, the 18-300mm is a DX-format lens, which would introduce a 1.5 crop factor to your full-frame images, while the 28-300mm is optimized to work with an full-frame format camera like the Nikon Z 6 and will not have this crop. Even with this difference, either would make a great addition to your growing camera bag.

Q: What is the Vr rating on this lens? VR11 or VR

A: The A-S NIKKOR 28-300 f/3.5-5.6G ED VR is equipped with Nikon's VR II.

Q: I am considering buying this lens for a D7500. I'm also looking at the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR, which is a little less expensive. I don't mind spending the extra money for a better lens. Is one lens better than the other for a D7500?

A: Both of these lenses would be amazing choices when paired with the Nikon D7500 Digital SLR.  The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR will have the better range of the two and is a DX lens, meaning it will be optimized for the D7500's DX "Crop" sensor.  The AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR will allow for the wider open aperture at 300mm making it the faster of the two lenses.  This lens was made for our FX Full Frame sensor cameras so it will be fully optimized for a wider range of cameras.

Q: Is this lens compatible with the Nikon D5100 digital?

A: AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5 -5.6G ED VR Standard Zoom Lens is fully compatible with the D5100. When used on a DX format DSLR like the D5100 the maximum angle of view is 53° and the minimum angle of view is 5°20'.

Q: Regarding AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm, The Nikon site says that it is compatible with D810, but in the Best Buy site it is not listed as compatible. Why?

A: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens is completely compatible with the Nikon D810 DSLR camera. This lens is optimized for edge to edge sharpness on both FX and DX-format cameras and has Nikon Vibration Reduction to provide approximately 3.5 stops of blur-free, handheld shooting. To learn more about lens compatibility please contact Nikon Support.

Q: nikon lens

A: A DX lens will be indicated by the letters "DX" in the lens name, for example: AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR. DX lenses also have "DX" on the barrel of the lens. The AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR is an FX lens and therefore does not have either of these indcations.
