  • Key Specs
    • Effective Pixels: 20.3 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
  • General
    • Brand: Nikon
    • Model Number: 26513
    • Product Name: KeyMission 360 Degree Waterproof Action Camera
    • Color: Black
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Optical Zoom: None (The optical zoom uses a combination of lenses that magnify the image prior to it being registered at high resolution by the imaging sensor.)
    • 360 Degree Capture: true (The capability of the product to record an image incorporating a 360 degree point of view.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Maximum Aperture: f/2 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Maximum Focal Length: 1.6 millimeters (The maximum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The greater the focal length, the smaller the area of scene captured.)
    • Effective Pixels: 20.3 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Video

Q: Are there any accessories to mount this camera, like what GoPro has? Or does it only have the items in the accessory bundle?

A: There are many accessories available for the KeyMission 360. The camera will ship with the following accessories: EN-EL12 Rechargeable Battery, EH-73P Charging AC Adapter, UC-E21 USB Cable, AA-1A Base Adapter (allows you to attach the camera to a mount accessory), AA-2 Base Mount F, AA-3 Base Mount C, CF-AA1 Silicone Jacket, AA-17 Head-Mounted Display, AA-14A Lens Protector, AA-15A Underwater Lens Protector and a User’s Manual.

Q: How much storage (MicroSD) can this support up to?

A: The camera will support microSDXC-type cards. These type of cards are available in capacity's up to 128GB. Sandisk or Lexar Media brand cards would be recommended.

Q: will this 360 video camera sync with a I-Phone 6?

A: There will be a specific app for the KeyMission 360 - Snapbridge 360/170 - that will enable you to view your images and videos from the camera on an iOS device.

Q: Does this camera have the ability to change the iso and exposure of each lens independently when shooting 360 photos? Also, how noticeable is the stitch line in photos?

A: The ISO range on the KeyMission 360 camera is 100-1600. It cannot be manually set. The camera does have exposure compensation, that can be manually set. The Range is -2.0 - +2.0 in steps of 1/3 EV. The camera's has one exposure mode and that is Programmed Auto. The stitch line, would not be noticeable. If your browser is capable of viewing 360 degree video, please visit http://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/action-cameras/index.page to view a sample.

Q: This might be a dumb question, but does this camera ONLY shoot in 360, or can you select to shoot from the front lens only for a non 360 video?

A: The KeyMission 360 records only 360° movies and still photos. It does not have the option to shoot with a single lens.

Q: Am I understanding correctly that professional programs like Adobe premier will NOT recognize the Nikon 360 codec directly? You need to use a utility software to convert file before you ingest into adobe? No drop and go editing with Adobe Premier?

A: I don't think so. The file is a regular MP4 The challenge is not the codec but the editing capabilities. for what I've seen, Premier is not ready yet for it. I've been exploring and the best choice so far is the Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate. an affordable software that allows you to edit and export 360 video. you can create titles in the 360 format. YouTube will recognize it perfectly. Good luck exploring

Q: Does this camera provide time-lapse capability for still shots?

A: The Nikon KeyMission 360 Action camera can automatically capture still images at a specified interval to create time-lapse movies. For more information on the Time-lapse movie feature check out page 24 of the Nikon KeyMission 360 Reference Manual. A free manual can be downloaded from the following link: http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/337/KeyMission_360.html

Q: How do you edit the footage? Are there multiple video streams that need to be stitched or is it a single file? Can it be edited/panned/rotated in Premiere Pro or is special software required?

A: Best thing I've found so far is the Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate. It's seems easy to use and will work perfectly with 360 video and export it.
