About this product
The PAX50 is a small-format 70V/100V commercial amplifier built for flexible distributed audio system design. Its quarter-rack width and 1U height mean up to four amplifiers fit in a single rack space, so adding power or zones is a matter of adding another unit rather than replacing the rack. Inputs can be shared across multiple amplifiers or kept separate, allowing one source across all zones or a different source in each. The 50W output powers up to eight speakers tapped at 5 watts, and two units can be paired to create a stereo zone where left and right separation matters. Connections include two line inputs (RCA stereo summed to mono and 3.5mm stereo) plus a balanced quarter-inch microphone input with volume control, a 3.5mm line-level pre out and a Phoenix connector speaker output. Independent gain knobs for each line input and a front-panel master volume handle setup. Signal sensing turns the amplifier on automatically with a 3-second delay and shuts it down after 3 minutes of silence.
Four Amplifiers Fit One Rack Space
At 6.24 by 10.09 by 1.9 inches, the quarter-rack chassis lets up to four PAX50 units occupy a single rack space using the optional mount kit. Systems grow by adding amplifiers rather than replacing them, which keeps upgrade costs low and rack real estate under control in tight equipment closets.
70V/100V Output for Eight Speakers
A rear-panel switch selects 70V or 100V constant-voltage operation, with 50 watts of output powering up to eight speakers tapped at 5 watts each. Output modes are rated at 70V and 100V plus or minus 3V at 1kHz with 1% THD, suiting retail, office and hospitality distributed audio.
Shared or Independent Source per Zone
Inputs can be shared with additional amplifiers or kept separate for each unit. That means a multi-zone system can run one source everywhere or a different source in each zone, and two PAX50 units can pair to create a stereo zone where left and right separation is needed.
Line, 3.5mm and Balanced Mic Inputs
Line 1 accepts RCA stereo summed to mono, Line 2 accepts 3.5mm stereo, and a balanced quarter-inch microphone input with its own volume control supports paging (an external preamp is required). A 3.5mm line-level pre out feeds additional equipment, and independent gain knobs set each line input.
Auto Signal Sensing and Cool Class D Design
Signal sensing powers the amplifier on with a 3-second delay and shuts it down after 3 minutes of silence. Class D amplification runs cool for rack mounting or restricted ventilation and uses a fraction of the electricity of Class AB designs. Metal chassis, RoHS2, FCC, CE and plenum rated, 2-year warranty.
