Q: Is the bluetooth just to set it up or do I need my bluetooth to be always ON to control the lights?
A: Only on setup. Your smart bridge (HUB) does the rest.
Q: Can this lightbulb be connected to a home assistant server?
A: Yes. I have about 30 hooked up to mine.
Q: Do they turn on and off with a standard light switch?
A: Absolutely! They function like a regular lightbulb but with a voice assistant and/or app you get the additional features.
Q: Can this bulb be controlled on your phone when you are not home
A: The Phillips Hue app with the hub is required to control the light.
A: This bulb is a viable replacement but does not allow you to control it with the system in place to control the Cree bulb you are replacing. This is a 1100 lumen bulb A19 and 60Hz but requires a bluetooth connection or a Philips Hue Hub
A: It does, but only with the optional Hue Hub (sold separately)
Q: Does this bulb work well with a google nest mini for a bedroom?
A: This bulb uses Zigbee or bluetooth for communication - to control with any of the personal assistants, you will need to use the associated Philips Hue Hub
