A: It is hard wired in not Bluetooth. So it will be useless if stolen. U can choose a good mounting place . It sticks on with double sided tape no screws .
A: This is a hardwired camera that needs a video screen/monitor to plug its RCA plug into. It also requires a power source to be wired in. I installed mine with a Pioneer 62000-NEX head unit (added GPS with the upgrade). it is not a Bluetooth camera. if you do not have a video screen on your current radio, this will likely not work for you with out replacing your factory radio. Bummer
Q: Does this camera have night vision
A: This model depends on the car reverse lights for night vision.
A: This camera does not show the assist lines. It is installed to the exterior of the vehicle and does not use up the radio slot.
Q: Does this have night vision? If it doesn't, how good is the picture quality at night?
A: This does have night vision. I have it set as a back-up camera on my Jeep. There are better cameras out there, but many do not reverse the image like this does... which is needed for a back-up Camera. The image is fine during the day and more grainy at night, but it serves its purpose.
Q: Would this camera work installed on extra tire on back of my jeep?
A: Yes! I have done exactly that on my Jeep. I mounted the camera to my spare tire, ran the wire into a grommet in my tailgate, ran wires along factory wires from tailgate to right rear fender then under rollbar padding to the front A-pillar then down to dash. Connections are simple. Plug the RCA cable to the brown input on the back of your stereo. Ground the black wire. Connect red wire to a power source. If you connect the violet/white wire coming out of yourAVH-1500 to a wire that powers your reverse lights, the screen will automatically switch to the back-up camera when you put the Jeep in reverse.
Q: Where on the car does this gets mounted? I have a pickup truck.
A: The tech created a small bracket to mount above the lis. plate. This is a wide angle lens and does not how lines for distance. Consider if this is for you.
A: Yes. It will wire into the brown RCA on the back of the nex head unit. Most commonly, you will tap the power supply of the camera into the reverse wire that powers your reverse lights.
