It features patented SDA surround technology and a 3D audio mode for a wider, more immersive sound stage. The Polk’s Voice Adjust technology works with MagniFi’s integrated center channel speaker to deliver crystal clear dialogue without affecting the rest of the soundtrack. Stream your favorite music from your smartphone, tablet, or PC via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, or Alexa MRM. With an easy, one-cable set-up via HDMI eARC/ARC (HDMI cable included), optical, or AUX inputs, the MagniFi Max AX sound bar works with most TV.
A: The speakers are wireless in the fact they have no cable that runs to the soundbar however they each have a power cable that must be plugged in to a wall outlet. There are no mounting holes on the bottom of the speakers but there is one slotted hole on the back plate of the speakers to mount them with.
A: I tested them with Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End, and the rear speaker were barely audible. (2007) I then tested the system with Pirate of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), which has scenes with Dolby Atmos, and the rear speakers sounded great. Haven't had the chance to do other testing to see if its because of Atmos or because of the age of the films. But they are capable of good sound, its just what you are playing.
Q: How do you control the balance between the left and right rear surround speakers?
A: Surround control for the Polk Audio MagniFi Max AX SR Soundbar: Use the surround controls on the remote to easily adjust the volume on your connected surround speakers. Press the SURR button, then + for higher volume or – for lower volume. If one surround speaker is too loud or the other is too quiet, you can use the remote to adjust the relative balance between the two speakers. To adjust the volume balance of the surround speakers: Press and hold the SURR button on the remote for 2 seconds, then press the + or – to change the relative volume between the two speakers.
A: I have the system now so here are the measurements as I measure them in my house as exact as possible. Subwoofer Height 15-11/16" Depth 16-1/16" Width 11-7/8" Soundbar Height 2-13/16" Depth 4-1/2" Width 45" Rears Height 4-9/16" Depth about 4-1/4" Width 7-7/8" The one thing that differs is about a 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch but this is extremly close if not exact. Hope this helps.
Q: Can I buy compatible individual speakers to place in other rooms?
A: Hi Wittdogg, The MagniFi Max AX does now allow for adding speakers to place in other rooms. I suggest having a look at Denon's 550 Soundbar, which is able to do as you wish, courtesy of it's flexible HEOS technology and it's ability to work with Denon's other wireless Home speakers, and even a wireless sub-woofer.
A: Rear speakers are bluetooth but they have power cords. (No charging) was the same reason i didnt buy the JBLs. This Polk model is a good sounding system.
Q: Can you purchase additional speakers to pair?
A: The Polk Audio MagniFi Max AX SR comes with a Soundbar, wireless subwoofer, and two wireless surround speakers capable of 7.1.2 playback. No additional speakers can be added.
A: Yes , plugged in to a Wall Outlet.
