Verdict: The RevAir Precision Root and Micro Edge Styler is an interesting tool for targeted styling. The description implies that it can style hair from root to edge… However, the plates are too thin to efficiently style a whole head of hair, especially curly hair like what we have in our household. Buy this as a complimentary accessory for roots, edges, and targeted styling, but use it after you use a larger iron to cover more surface area faster. Initial impression. It looks nice when unpacking. It’s simple enough to figure out how to operate without reading instructions. I like that it has a lock feature; it’s useful for packing and also for safety. The temperature knob is very easy to operate with just one hand. The color scheme is pleasant. Performance. The RevAir styler warms up quickly. We use it between 380 and 410 to manage type 3 hair. Heat is nicely distributed on the plates. The thin edges and form factor allow the plates to get very close to the roots. It’s actually really effective at straightening shorter hairs and roots, which are areas that normally don’t get managed well with our other straightner. The thin plates also allow curl styling by twisting around the plates. Things I like: - The tourmaline ceramic-coated plates are high quality… effective and gentle on the hair - Locking mechanism - Easy temperature adjustment - Digital temperature readout - Comfortable handling - Warms up quickly - Very effective for targeted touchups and specific areas Things I don’t like: - It’s a really targeted tool, so it’s more of a complementary accessory than a primary tool. While it could do more, it would take too long and be less effective. Use it for what it does well: short hairs and roots. Overall, the RevAir Styler is a neat little tool. I recommend getting this as an accessory that compliments your other hair tools. We like it!

I try not to use heat on my hair between wash days after a blowout but as the weather in the South becomes more humid my edges and the roots of my hair might need a little help to make it through to the next wash day. The RevAir - Precision Root & Micro Edge Styler with the small but mighty 0.3 inch plates do the job fast and perfectly. I can get close to the root without putting heat on parts of my hair that don't need it. That's not always the case with a wider plated iron. The plates heat up quickly and has a nice range of heat levels to choose from so you can choose how much heat you want to expose your hair to. I haven't needed to do multiple passes over any spot which is super important when it comes to wanting to keep the heat exposure to a minimum to avoid any damage. And because the plates are so small you can add a little lift to the root without disturbing the rest of your style. I do have relatively long hair so the plates are bit too small for curling my full head but it's perfect for fixing some stray hairs that need a little curl or smoothing the parted areas. And for those stubborn grays that arre starting to frame my hairline it straightens them like a champ! It's more lightweight than I expected and might be my only minuscule negative as I do wonder how well it will hold up to travel or the inevitable accidental drop or fall from the counter. This micro edge styler meets a need that I didn't truly realize I had until now.

My wife loves the RevAir Root & Micro Edge Styler! Here’s what she says about it. It’s the perfect size and really works to tame the perma-tease in some of the shorter wigs I have. Most of them have too much volume and are seldom worn. I also used it to smooth the fraying edges of some of her longer styles as well as the oldest wig I have. The regular hair straighteners are too wide to be able to use it on the perma-tease safely or easily. This one is the Goldy Locks on size and the variable temperatures to get a wide range of jobs done! The thermal photos show how even the heat is on the plates and nice and close to the edge of the styler. The wig safe temperature varies from wig to wig, so the lowest possible is always a safer bet. I did a test on some hair at 270 degrees before starting on the actual wig, and then I was to on the underside first to double check just to be absolutely safe. I was able to remove the lower lighter perma-tease and reduce the amount on the top of the wig by about two thirds. (see photos) I started at the bottom and work in smaller sections and take your time on the whole job but to be quick on the hair to not get it too hot. It’s easier to make another pass after it cools some. Do about an eighth to quarter inch thick by three inch wide section and only heat about a third of it at a time. Working from the bottom up allows it to cool and lay down, so you can easily tell if it needs another pass and allows it to cool in its final place. Working on the wigs ends was pretty much the same small thin sections work better faster, and you can tell if it’s going to lay straight or turn under as you work. It didn’t take too long to finish all three wigs. I have had long lightly curly auburn hair all of my life and working with hair tools is new to me. I still only use tools on the wigs and not me bio hair. This is going to make my wig ends maintenance a lot easier. The 6 foot (2m) rotating cord makes it nice to not have to fight the cord while fighting the wig layers.. My mother in law has shorter layered hair above her ears and has already put in her “order” to me for hubby to get her one of these! It’s going to make a great Mother’s Day Gift! This styler scores a 98 out of a 100. The outside of the styler barrel gets very hot leaving only the very tip end to rest your fingers for trying to support the tool on the end.

The 60-minute auto-shut off is an outstanding safety feature. A locking switch is another critical safeguard. CONCLUSION: After my first use, I replaced my previous flat iron with the RevAir Micro Edge Styler. There is no comparison between its lightweight, ergonomic design & that of competitive stylers. I love how my hair glides along the ultra-smooth plates. The Micro Edge Styler earns my highest recommendation.

Having a combination of 3C and 4C with somewhat coily hair, it’s not easy to style my hair and it can take more time than I’d like to spend. I’ve used many different products and hair stylers through the years. I was hoping this would work well but didn’t want to get my hopes up just in case. I was excited to see that this works extremely well for my hair! It heats up quickly and the changing the temperature is very easy using the dial turner. I love that it displays the actual temperature, not just high and low. I also love that it has a lock switch that keeps it the way you want it. That’s great for safety because once you lock it, it needs to be unblocked to open it up or close it. It also shuts off automatically at an hour, I tested it out just to be sure it would and it did. But normally, it’s better to always shut if off once done using it. Using this styler straightens my hair fairly quickly and easily. I love that it’s so small and thin so it doesn’t take up much space on the counter. And because it’s so thin, I can get close to my scalp to get all my hair straighten. With some others, if you get too close because it gets too hot but still doesn’t reach the very edge. My edges are perfectly straight with this and I also used it at the ends of my hair. It helps my hair stay smooth all over.
