Q: Is this a one or two piece cover?

A: The Tablet is held magnetically to the top cover and opens like a book. In the closed position the keyboard rests on the front of your tablet and all the way open you can fold it around and set it on your lap or table etc. When using the keyboard you open it and click into place and it will hold the tablet in the upright position. All this can be done without taking the tablet our of the case. The S Pen has two places to sit, first it attaches to the back and second is when all the way open in the folded backward position there is a space in the crease or fold of the case. You can also leave it there while the case is folded closed which I really love because it feels more secure that way. Overall, I think this is really made well and a great keyboard/ case. The only downside is I don't think it would protect it from a fall.

A: the Tab S8+ keyboard has a backlight FN F12, the Tab S7+ keyboard does not. For such expensive book covers/keyboard, that is a real miss from Samsung. I have both tablets, i use one for work and one for home. You can buy affordable lit keyboards elsewhere. I hope this helps.

Very comfortable
I've been using this keyboard for long writing sessions and it's so comfortable. Believe me, it greatly improves the experience of using the tablet and it's very good at protecting it. I always carry the tablet in my backpack and so far I haven't had any scratches on the screen. The pen is supposed to go in the back but I use the middle slot so that it doesn't get lost or damaged by rubbing.
