Samsung - The Freestyle Battery Base - White

Battery stopped charging after just a couple months of use. Way overpriced for what you get. I expected a lot better from Samsung. Stay away until they figure out the battery issue.

With this battery add-on I no longer have to fuss around with power cables and that really makes the experience of using the Freestyle way more enjoyable. When not in use I just keep my Freestyle chargin in my office and it’s always ready to go. It does add a bit of weight to the projector (I’m thinking, 5 pounds?), but that weight also stabilizes it and keeps it from easily being knocked down or rocked. The weight also makes the Freestyle feel much more sturdy. It adds to the design of the Freestyle and makes it look more complete as a product. The charging takes about as long as the amount of projection time it gives: 2 1/2 to 3 hours. At one point I thought the battery had died quickly, but realized that about 2 1/2 hours had actually passed before my very eyes. I think a sweet spot for battery life would have been around 3 to 4 hours, but that may be adjusted by plugging in an additional battery charger to charge the Battery base. (Extreme users would do this!) Otherwise, it’s a great accessory that will let you watch a full movie, a few episodes of your favorite show, or a couple hours of playing video games before it needs to be charged again. Pro Tip: You can also plug the power adapter to the battery (even if the battery is dead) and it will still let you power on the projector through the accessory while still charging the battery (albeit much slower than if the Freestyle was turned off). Overall, I am very happy with this battery base and have no regrets purchasing it. I plan on using it outdoors once I figure out how to stream or play video on it without wifi. GET IT!!!

I love having an external battery but this one didn’t last for a 3 hour movie. Put a wrench in bonfire movie night.

Works great, nice weight, I get almost 3 hours of use before it needs a recharge. I also like the tripod attachment point on the bottom.

Just over a year old and used maybe 5 times. Now battery will not charge, light will only blink. I hoped they would stand behind an obviously faulty product that has the same problems that everyone has had, but I was told to "but a new one" after wasting an hour of texting and phone calls. You might as well light your 200 dollars on fire...you will get more enjoyment out of that than you will this battery.
