About this product

Smart dimming controller with new Shelly chip and multiprotocol support. Fits behind switches, enables full smart control without changing setup (Shelly Bypass for Dimmer is required when the device is used without neutral and the load is under 20 W). Shelly Dimmer Gen4 is a single-channel smart dimming controller which allows remote control of dimmable lights and dimming drivers through a mobile phone, tablet, PC, or home automation system. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee connectivity. The device can work standalone in a local Wi-Fi network or it can also be operated through cloud home automation services. It can be accessed, controlled, and monitored remotely from any place where the User has internet connectivity, as long as it is connected to the Internet. Shelly Dimmer Gen4 has an embedded Web Interface which can be used to monitor and control the Device, as well as adjust its settings. The Device can be used as trailing edge dimmer switch, with or without neutral wire. Matter compatible.

    Great Smart Dimmer

    We had this installed as part of our Smart home Set Up, and I really liked it. Being able to adjust the lights from my phone is so convenient. It is nice to have more control over the brightness depending on time of day. Everything has worked smoothly since installed, and it integrate really well with the rest of our Smart home. I’d recommend if you’re looking to upgrade your lighting.

    Perfect dimmer for retrofit

    I used the Shelly Dimmer Gen4 to add remote dimming for my living room lights. It was extremely to install. Used a momentary rocker switch to add the local ability to turn it on/off and dim up and down. But I really use the Shelly app to set the light levels. Considering using the Shelly Wall Display to add even more capabilities to my home..

    Lighting Control that Adapts to Natural Light

    Shelly Dimmer Gen4 has been fantastic in my setup, especially when paired with the Shelly BLU Motion sensor. Using the Lux sensor to adjust brightness based on the amount of natural light in the room makes the lighting feel really smart and responsive throughout the day. It has made the space more comfortable while also helping avoid unnecessary full brightness when sunlight is already doing some of the work.

    The app is a bit difficult to set up

    The app is a bit difficult to set up, I did however get around the issue by using my home assistant in its stead. The dimming device however is great!

    Great with one small drawback

    I have only had this for about a week, but so far this has performed excellent. I am using the Zigbee protocol with Home Assistant. Very easy to set up and use. Space in the box was a little bit of an issue, but manageable. My only critique is that the turn on and off require at least a 1 second ramp up an down. With my lights, the top part of that ramp is hard to even see the difference in dimness. As a result, when turning off the light from the switch, there is about half a second where it feels like it didn't do anything. I am sure I will get used to this, but if someone is just flipping switches looking for which one controls the light, its possible to flip this off and then on again before seeing the light go off. I have also had a couple of times where I flipped the switch on my way out of the room and stopped for a second thinking I hit the wrong switch, but by the time I have stopped to check, the light is already off. It would be nice if I could remove the ramp feature, but my understanding is it is required by law in the US due to the specific hardware in this gen dimmer.
