First, a Sonos Port is what you would need to stream music via the Sonos app or use AirPlay and control the volume. This amplifier comes with a BUSS input, meaning you can connect one Sonos Port to the amplifier and play the same music across all speaker channels. You could also connect a Sonos Port to any or all (8) local inputs on the amplifier. This would give you independent volume control for each local input. As an example, let's say you have (8) different areas/rooms in your home where you want to put a pair of speakers (for example, Kitchen, Dining Room, Primary Bedroom, Primary Bathroom, Office, Kids Bedroom, Guest Bedroom, Patio.) You could give each local input its own Sonos Port and have the ability to independently control volume in each room as well as play different music in every room. Using the Sonos app, you could also group areas and play the same music in those grouped rooms. This amplifier is very flexible and works great with Sonos Port.
