Sony FE 85mm F1.4 GM II Full-frame Large-aperture G Master Lens

The Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM II Lens is the upgraded version of the renowned G Master portrait prime lens, now optimized for both photographers and videographers. This lens offers an improved optical design with two XA elements and extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and enhance image clarity. The f/1.4 aperture allows for precise control over depth of field, providing stunning subject isolation and beautiful background blur. The rounded 11-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth bokeh, making it ideal for portrait, event, and cinematic applications. With the addition of the XD linear motor, autofocus performance has been dramatically improved—offering faster, quieter, and more accurate focusing, even in fast-moving situations. This makes the lens perfect for capturing high-speed action at up to 120 fps with Sony's a9 III. The lens also features internal focusing, minimizing focus breathing and ensuring smooth transitions for video work. Compact and lightweight, the FE 85mm f/1.4 GM II is 20% lighter and 13% smaller than its predecessor, with a dust- and moisture-resistant design for durability in harsh conditions.Manufacturer Included Items:Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM II LensSony ALC-F77S 77mm Front Lens CapSony ALC-R1EM Rear Lens CapSony Lens Hood for FE 85mm f/1.4 GM IIPadded Lens CaseBundle Items Include:Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM II Lens3 Piece 77mm Filter KitCleaning Kit5-Inch Lens PouchLens Cap Keeper

A great portrait lens gets even betterThe FE 85mm F1.4 GM II follows the acclaimed FE 85mm F1.4 GM with equally stunning bokeh plus higher resolution at all apertures thanks to the latest lens technology. It also supports full AF speed and precision with a-series bodies. The lens is remarkably compact and lightweight, adding agility to extraordinary image quality. A great G Master portrait lens for maximum creative control.Ultimate freedom for creative portraitureThe FE 85mm F1.4 GM II features Sony's latest lens technology, following the acclaimed FE 85mm F1.4 GM with equally stunning bokeh and higher resolution even at F1.4. It offers full AF performance with a-series bodies and is remarkably compact and lightweight. The perfect G Master portrait lens for maximum agility and creative control.Next-level G Master performance: even sharper with gorgeous bokeh2 XA (extreme aspherical) elements achieve eye-opening resolution right out to the image edges, while 2 ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberration. Eyes and expressions can be captured with stunning clarity regardless of framing. Sony's Nano AR Coating II suppresses flare and ghosting in just about any lighting. Minimum focus distance is 0.85 m (2.79ft) (AF)/0.8 m (2.63ft) (MF).Stunning G Master bokeh with smoother transitionsThe FE 85mm F1.4 GM II carries on the acclaimed performance of the previous model with a new optical design that controls chromatic aberration for more natural bokeh. An 11-blade circular aperture provides further enhancement, while precisely controlled spherical aberration works with XA (extreme aspherical) elements to minimize onion-ring bokeh. All of this means smooth transitions from sharp focus to deep bokeh at F1.4.The full AF speed and precision of advanced a-series bodies realized2 XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors and high-speed control give the FE 85mm F1.4 GM II AF speed that is up to 3x faster than previous model. Moving subject tracking is improved by as much as 7x, allowing reliable capture even when using extremely narrow depth of field at F1.4. The 120 fps capability of the a9 III with its global shutter is fully supported. The FE 85mm F1.4 GM II offers extraordinary creative control for serious portraiture.20% less mass with no image quality compromiseXA (extreme aspherical) elements, refined optics, XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors, and a compact circular aperture unit pack superb large-aperture performance into a barrel that measures just 84.7 (3-3/8 inch) x 107.3 mm (4-1/4 inch) and weighs only 642 g (22.7 oz.). That's about 13% less volume and 20% less mass for outstanding agility and matching with compact a-series bodies. An ideal 85mm F1.4 lens for filmmakingThe FE 85mm F1.4 GM II is ideal for filming people. It works with Real-time Recognition AF in a-series bodies, for fast, precise, quiet subject tracking that maintains sharp focus even at F1.4. Focus breathing is minimal, and body breathing compensation is supported. Click-less aperture ring operation and Linear Response MF allow smooth, intuitive control.Top-class control and reliability for professional applicationsTwo customizable focus hold buttons and an AF/MF switch offer flexible operability, while an independent aperture ring and Linear Response MF provide intuitive control for creative shooting.
