Standalone Refrigerator Install to Existing or No Water (Ready to Use)

Before we begin

To prepare for installation, make sure someone 18 or older is present at the appointment time.

Disconnect the existing refrigerator

An existing, dedicated, functional, non-corroded and code-compliant shutoff valve (not a "self-piercing saddle valve") is required.

Connect the new refrigerator

We'll attach the new stainless-steel waterline to the shutoff valve if there is enough length for the refrigerator to be pulled out for cleaning. If not, we can compression-fit the stainless steel waterline to an existing copper waterline.

Install the anti-tip hardware

We'll secure the manufacturer-supplied bracket to the floor or wall and to the unit per manufacturer requirements. Then, we'll plug the unit into an existing electrical outlet.

Optional services

At your request, we can reverse the door swing and install a new ice maker kit into a new ice maker-ready unit.

Final steps

We'll level and test the appliance for functionality, clean up our workspace, answer any questions you may have, and let you know how to contact us for future support.

Purchase haul-away services for an additional fee

When you buy a qualifying refrigerator from Best Buy, we’ll haul away and recycle or relocate your old one for you. (Not included)

This service does not include the use of a ladder, removal of ceiling tiles, or entry into a crawl space to access the shutoff valve.

This service does not include permits, modification of cabinetry, flooring or walls, or removal of door frames, molding, railings, wall hangings or other affixed obstacles in the pathway. The connection of internet-capable appliances to a home network is also not included.

If the shutoff valve and/or waterline requirements are not met, Waterline Installation Service must be purchased from Best Buy and scheduled separately to connect the unit to water.

Additional charges may apply for permits required by your municipality, cabinet or counter modifications, and utilities like valves or outlets that are nonfunctional or not up to code. Relocation does not include reconnection.
