Q: Is this enough to light paint a vehicle with?

A: You can definitely light paint a car with this. Set your exposure long enough and use the right gels and you will be golden. Since it is a linear light, holding it vertical while getting a low shot should do you right. The gels included diffuse well enough, you can change colors in post. Best of luck.

A: You can, but I wouldn't advise. this only runs on its battery, cannot be plugged in to wall and used at the same time. this only last about 2 hours tops on full power.

Great little light source
I use this stick for stills photography, and it adds just enough light (and even some color with the included gels) that makes it perfect for the work I do. It also breaks down small enough that I can attach it to the outside of my camera bag. The base that can be threaded to a tripod is not the best attachment point, just a be aware. Overall happy with this light source.

affordable lighting
I am a professional photographer and lighting is always needed, specially portable. I have used ice lights in the past from renting, but to purchase they are quite pricey. These are a more affordable replacement, but with affordability comes restrictions. This unit will allow you to use it for about 1.5 hours on max with a full charge which isn't bad, but when the battery goes unless you have extra batteries or more than one of these you are done until a full charge. THESE ARE NOT CAPABLE OF BEING PLUGGED IN TO USE, you have to remove the batteries and charge them, which take hours.

light when you need it
The Lightstick is good for a quick need to fill an area or to light a single person for a portrait shot. The fact that it's battery operated with rechargeable batteries makes it very portable. The corrective gels are cumbersome to use.
