excellent lightweight hard drive and Very good price.

Purchased this external USB drive for extra storage. It has a nice small size and is a USB 3.0 drive but numerous drive are about its size and can store files. What really pleased me was the included software. It included backup software but what was really a nice surprise was the lifetime PogoPlug license and software. It allows you to use directories like cloud storage but where your PC is the cloud server. No limit to the amount of files that can be made available remotely. Your computer has to be on, of course, to access the files since it is acting as the server.

I have owned 3 different types of external/portable memory devices. This is comparable to the more expensive versions in the sense that it is easy to use. It works just like your everyday thumb drive. You plug it into your computer and you drag your file to the drive on your file menu (things get slightly more complicated if you have a Mac, but a simple google drive teaches you how to format the Toshiba 1TB). The biggest plus for me is that the Toshiba 1TB does not come with software whose default setting is to prompt you to backup your device. I primarily use it for Music, Videos, and school documents. Using this as a device to backup your entire computer might be a bit tediuos if you do not use the back up app that comes with your computer. None the less, incredibly easy to use and affordable.

Great storage, light wieght and small enough for my pocket, purse or camera bag. Transfers made easy between , phone, laptop and pc, and my camera. just wish the cord was longer only get a foot of cord which sometimes is a problem

HDD is easy to use and light, thus far since purchase I've not encountered any problems. It's capacity allows for me to plug it into my Blueray player and watched movies I've stored in it.

Great hard drive, but the back-up software included with it is poor. I backed up my computer when i got this and 4 weeks later my computer crashed causing me to eventually have to re-install the operating system. Sadly i lost almost half of it when i tried to re-install it. I have since gotten better software and i use this hard-drive for backing up my TV. It's quiet and fast thru the usb 3 connection. I'd probably buy it again but ONLY for a storage use. At 49 bucks it was a good deal. Easy setup up and running in less than 3 mnutes

I caught this on sale when I was looking for additional data storage to use with my laptop. Since color didn't matter to _me_, I got a blue one because the black one _wasn't_ on sale but the _blue_ one _was_. ;-) I've already used this drive while at a SQL Saturday (okay, I'm a geek ;-) and it was as handy as I expected it to be. The fact that it is, as indicated in the summary, light weight and compact _makes_ it convenient and the fact that it is fast (I used a USB 3.0 connection) makes it really nice.

Toshiba isn't exactly on my list of "premium" drive manufacturers, but they've been my go to for years--I now own 5 of their externals. Yes, the enclosure is plastic (note I prefer the silver to the black; the black is fantastic when new but cosmetics deteriorate quickly with use, the silver more of a matte finish). USB 3.0 speeds are up to expectations (sorry, no hard data on this), and the drive does exactly what other manufacturer's drives do, all for about 20% less.

Attractive, small, easy to use, with sufficient space for backing up images of multiple computers.

All I did was plug and started to store my items. I have Windows 8 and there was nothing to load or do except plug it in. I store movies on mine and it holds a ton of movies . I just bring up window and click movie to start watching. Not wanting to keep the movies on my PC to take up memory the 1TB of memory was perfect. If I waned to take my movies with me to play on my Mac laptop I could do that to.

Love it - used it to back up a ton of video files / movies and then plugged it in to my smart tv and am able to watch mp4 / avi formats. also used it to back up photos and documents and games. Its very portable - similar to carrying an iphone. Exactly what I was looking for. Purchased 2 of these, one for my wife (in pink) and one for myself (silver)

I bought this drive to back up files of my desktop. I copied more than 300G files to it, and the drive works great. It is fast and reliable. Even better, it comes with a free software so that I can use it with both my PC and Macbook. This drive meets all my needs and I am completely satisfied with it.

This external hard drive was very compact and easy to install. It backs up the two hard drives in my desktop in an efficient and quiet manner. The company that provides the backup software has sent out updates to keep it running properly. I would recommend this product.

The Toshiba - Canvio Connect 1TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive is very nice. Fast with the USB 3.0, slim, and easy to connect with the provided USB 3 cable. I recommend purchasing a small pouch to protect the drive when you throw it in your computer bag.

I bought this hard drive to have more room for my son's Wii U games. I had to purchase a separate cable (I bought the eForCity dual A to Micro-B USB 3.0 Y Cable for like $8) and all I had to do was plug it in and format it and it was ready to go!

*Just want to mention if you like to tinker as I do, when you take the drive apart, wanting to use it as a 2.5" SATA drive inside, say, a laptop, you will be shocked to find that internally it has a special connector and cannot be repurposed as a SATA. Other than that, it's a fast drive, easy to use, JUST ONE cable to connect, a standard USB which operates at USB 3.0 speed. What does that mean? Well, sometimes when you're copying the files transfer at over 100 megabytes (not megaBITS) per second. In comparison I have never seen a USB 2.0 go faster than 30 megabytes per second. Bottom line it's a fast drive, small and easy to carry around.
