Founding member Cathy Lucas describes the process as 'gathering material together, riffing with it, turning it around on itself, trying to put the pieces together and create a story with it'. With Lucas now relocated to rural France, and Valentina Magaletti and Susumu Mukai in London, the three connected by swapping songs and fragments of instrumentals in a virtual studio space. Geographic distance is bridged by their hivemind creativity, with multi-instrumentalist input from each member. Each player brings a wide experience of collaboration and improvisation, with listening back and editing studio sessions an integral part of the creative process. Vanishing Twin furthers their exploration of decidedly experimental territories with Afternoon X. Crafted with a playful balance of humour and rigour, with each member embracing the role of the multi-instrumentalist and process, over outcome.Following a series of line-up changes, Vanishing Twin is now the tightly honed collective of singer and multi-instrumentalist Cathy Lucas, drummer Valentina Magaletti (Holy Tongue, Tomaga, Moin) and bassist Susumu Mukai (Zongamin). Harnessing the diverse touchstones of it's members; Lucas' left-field song-craft, Magaletti's singular approaches to experimental percussion, and Mukai's long history in the production of electronic music, the band has refined a hypnotic sound at the juncture of minimalism, kosmische, post-punk, and dream-laden, psychedelic pop. These eight fluttering abstractions, culled, collaged, and built upon from a vast constellation of instruments, samples, and unclaimed sources. Lucas employs her voice as an instrument and a generator of raw sound, weaving surreal imagery and uncanny juxtapositions amongst the dance and propellant drive. From infectious grooves of the album's title track and the constrained minimalism of InchSubitoInch, to the ambitious heights of pieces like 'The Down Below' and Lazy Garden, which unfurl a psychedelic avant-gardism on the scope and scale of David Axelrod and Scott Walker.Vanishing Twin embark upon a new multifaceted journey that collectively culminates as the bands most forward-thinking and groundbreaking to date.A1. Hatesphere - The Sickness Within (Reissue 2026) InchThe Sickness WithinInch is the pinnacle of the first part of the HateSphere career, and still a killer thrash-death album after all these years. Plenty of razor-sharp guitar riffs, some heavy crushing grooves and a subtle but cool melodic taste are the main ingredients of this brutally exquisite recipe, and truly represent the frantic HateSphere signature sound. The Danish band was lead at that time by the charismatic frontman Jacob Bredhal his raspy, powerful vocal delivery is one of the highlight of a flawless tracklist. Add a brilliant songwriting and a meaty production and you'll simply get one of the best extreme metal albums of the early 00s. To this day, an unparalleled vulgar display of sickness!

The eclectic and catchy alt-rock outfit Dobbeltgjenger is releasing their fourth studio album, 'The Twins'. The new record is about the battles that are waged against oneself. This is conceptualized through two internal and rivalling twins. The album reflects a chaotic time in songwriter Vegard Wikne's life in the aftermaths of a mental breakdown. The album reflects this process, both musically and lyrically. The music is energetic, manic and colourful, but also dark, smothering and hard. It changes and varies, just as life does when in a chaotic time. Lyrically the album is self reflective, sometimes from the InchbadInch twin's point of view and sometimes from a more cohesive one. InchBeing really mentally unwell can feel like observing yourself and your life from the outside, without anyway of interjectingInch Wikne says. - For fans of Talking Heads, Tame Impala & Major Parkinson - Featuring.
