A: Yes, the tablet will Cast 4k content. Casting is only controlled by the tablet, the actual video signal is coming to the unit through its network interface. You can use any tablet and the Vizio app to Cast 4k. Technically, yes, it is HDR and Dolby Vision. But, it is HDR 8 not 10. Honestly, it will be years before 4k and HDR/DV really matter. There are only about a dozen movies etc. out there right now in 4k. Think of 4k as what happened with Blu-ray. Redbox still warns you that you've chosen Blu-ray. After all these years, it is just barely reaching saturation in the market.
Q: Can you turn the TV on/off with Smartcast app on iphone?
A: The Home Theater Display can be powered on or off through the SmartCast app. Thanks! -Randal
A: Yes, the volume is low. No bass, and about 1/2 the volume of a normal TV. Especially if there is a lot of background noise in the house. I hooked mine up to a cheap boom box, and it sounds great. Try that. They have a sound bar for that TV that you can buy.
