A: We have a four bedroom house and have the main base in the kitchen and one of the units is in the garage. We've walked outside and all around the yard with the handset without losing the signal. I don't know how many feet you need, but this is about 200-250 feet away.

A: It is in the manual. You call the other set by it's number (as an extension in a pbx pretty much). It works like a PTT.
