Q: Can you connect this to your phones hot spot when driving??

A: From my use so far I don’t believe so. The device records at all time but the purpose of the data plan is to receive real-time alerts if the device detects a bump or impact. I assume you are asking if that can be done to avoid the cost of the data plan, if not I don’t know what the reason would be to try connecting to the phone hotspot.

A: It comes with its own sin and you would have To go to the Wayland's website to add 90 days to year it's 29.99 for 3 months and 99.99 for a year

Q: I would love to have this cam if I could mount it where my dome light is so I could see the inside of the car as well. Can the view be reoriented if the camera is mounted 180 degrees from how it's shown?

A: I’m sure it would vary by car but with mine mounted at the bottom of the windshield I still have an impressive view of the interior of the vehicle. The only thing you can’t see are my hips and legs and that is with the camera angled to see the hood and front of the vehicle appropriately.

Great Concept, Improvement Needed
Living in a major city, this camera offered everything I wanted to be able to monitor my car—motion activation, night vision, long life without draining my car battery, 360° recording, 4G cloud uploading, etc.—all at a reasonable price compared to other alternatives. I also appreciate this company being crowdfunded to deliver something that surprisingly wasn’t offered by bigger players in the market. All that said, this product has limitations. PROS: The application interface is well designed. I had a minor incident where someone backed into me and I was happy I could quickly export video footage—without having to remove the SIM card—and immediately upload it to the insurance company from my smart phone to show I wasn’t at fault. Having GPS wasn’t a feature that I was specifically looking for, but it has helped me remember where I parked my car on numerous occasions. Customer support is good. It’s apparent that the company cares about the product as they’re quick to respond to any issues. CONS: Having a 360° view from a camera mounted on the front windshield can only give you so much coverage. You’ll have a good view of the front and inside of the car, but your view of the outside back and sides is likely going to be pretty limited. I would recommend this camera to ride share drivers for monitoring passengers, but not necessarily to catch a vandal. The motion detection does not work well despite my keeping the setting on the highest sensitivity. I had a note left on my car, but there was no footage of anyone leaving it. Similarly, I can’t tell you the difference between the “bump” and “impact” settings. It all seems to be triggered at random. With the camera apparently being able to go for 15 days (according to Waylens’ website), I honestly wish there was a setting to just continuously record in set increments. 4G subscription plan is a bit weird. You’re offered a set amount of data per month. Basically use it or lose it. Fortunately, the app gives you plenty of ways to manage this and it isn’t necessarily required—you’d just lose out on some key features. The video and audio quality is good, but I recommend parking under a street light as the night vision can only do so much. Despite the solid application design, I wish some other features were customizable. The WiFi password is pretty insecure and there doesn’t seem to be a way to change it. The camera’s sounds can also be pretty annoying, especially when you’re troubleshooting a camera that keeps power cycling while you’re driving. And again—continuous recording would be a nice option. All in all, it’s a good product for the money, but don’t expect it to be a miracle device.

All the negative reviews are true, but I make good
Yep, all the bad reviews are absolutely true. HOWEVER, with workarounds and tweaks, this is a great system. First, the 1Gb data per month is horrible, but not undoable. Tweak your sensitivity to where it’s not uploading stupid stuff. I have mine to upload bumps and impacts, but to start recording to the SD cars all motions. Second is the crappy night vision. Yep, now I just went to Amazon and got a cheap infrared light ($12) and it turns on when it gets dark, and alllll without running my battery down too much. The crappy signal,...well I am getting less bars than ideal, but it always connects from my phone, even remotely. Overall, I will be keeping this; but if I had to buy over again, I would probably keep searching for something that was a better fit.
