  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: When they installed my dishwasher they did a test of it and the tub is filled with water, I then ran a normal cycle and the tub is still filled with water. How do I drain it?

A: In the directs there is a drain button or option. If that doesnt work and you have a garbage disposal, there might be a plug or value that would need tk be removed for the dishwasher to properly drain. We had a similar issue and it was the garbage disposal plug that prevented the dishwasher from draining.

Q: what does dBa mean?

A: It’s related to decibels (dB), which measures noise level. According to the government of Quebec, Canada, “Noise level is measured in decibels (dB). The louder the noise, the higher the decibels. Decibels can be adjusted to human hearing. Noise level is thus described in decibels A (dBA). The effects of noise vary with the noise to which a person is exposed. Prolonged exposure to loud noises (75 dBA over eight hours a day for years) can lead to hearing loss. The body can also respond to lower noise levels: sleep can be disturbed by an outdoor noise of 40 dBA.”

Q: What is the warranty on this Model?

A: Hello, Dishwasher model WDP540HAMW comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty for any functional failures.

Q: What is the minimum clearance height for installment?

A: Hello, please see the link to the Owner's Manual for more information on the proper dimensions needed for installation. https://shorturl.at/Mg4oz Measured from the lowest point on the underside of the countertop. May be reduced to 331/2" (851 mm) by removing the wheels and perforated area of insulation (blanket) on dishwasher. Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.

Q: My dishwasher stopped working. It will not turn on at all. Could you please give your opinion. The control panel will not respond. We have checked the breaker and the connections and all looks good.

A: Hello! We are sorry to hear about your concern. We would recommend contacting Whirlpool® at 800-253-1301. We are available M -F 8 am to 6 pm EST. They will be better able to assist you.
