  • Key Specs
    • Recommended Room Size: 400 square feet (The recommended area size in which the product is designed to operate and produce optimal results, such as the desired heating or cooling. Generally, running a unit too big or too small for the space will result in ineffective operation and wasted energy.)
    • DOE SACC Cooling Power: 6829.55 british thermal units (The Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity (SACC), implemented by the Department of Energy (DOE) after 2017, is a rating of a portable AC unit's cooling power. This rating is based on revised testing that more accurately measures a portable unit's performance, taking into account that these units do not vent heat in the same way as wall or window units and therefore were not cooling as effectively as the previous BTU ratings indicated (based on the ASHRAE-128 standard prior to 2017). Generally, the new cooling power ratings are lower than previous BTU ratings and can more reasonably be compared to the cooling capacities of other types of AC units.)
    • ASHRAE Cooling Power: 12000 british thermal units (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) rates the cooling power, or capacity, of portable AC units based on their effectiveness in cooling a single room as intended. Prior to 2017, this was the accepted standard used for comparison with other types of AC units. However, it did not accurately reflect the cooling power as it did not account for the heat emitted from the unit that would circulate back into the space. The Department of Energy (DOE) Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity (SACC) standard is now used to determine appropriate BTU ratings of portable AC units.)
    • Number of Cool Settings: 1
    • Number of Fan Speeds: 3
    • Airflow Rate: 155 cubic feet per minute
    • Remote Control: true
    • Integrated Heater: true
    • Sleep Mode: true (Enabling this mode sets the unit to first reach the desired temperature, then gradually increase the temperature over a period of time until it reaches a new set temperature, typically several degrees higher than the initial cool setting. This mode helps save energy while keeping the room comfortable.)
    • Timer: true
    • Auto Shut-Off: true (Feature automatically turns off the product.)
    • Window Venting Kit: true (Indicates whether supplies for venting the unit through a window are included.)
    • Combined Energy Efficiency Ratio (CEER): 12.2 (The standard used to measure energy efficiency in window and room air conditioners by the Department of Energy (DOE) as of June of 2014. CEER measures the ratio of output BTUs (British Thermal Units) to input electrical energy (watts) in standby mode and while the unit is operating. Generally, the higher the number, the more efficient the unit. Though higher efficiency units are typically more expensive upfront, they may offset the price in energy costs over time.)
    • App Compatible: false (The product can be connected to a program or software application on a mobile device, which then receives collected data from the product.)
    • Wireless Connectivity: None (The manner in which a device sends data to another device over a short distance without the use of wires or cables.)
    • Air Conditioner Type: Portable
    • Hose Configuration: Dual (Generally, dual hose configurations are more efficient and better suited for cooling larger areas. Single hose configurations typically consume less energy and are best for cooling smaller spaces.)

For best results, the capacity of the unit should be based on the size of the area it is intended to heat. The recommended capacity depends on several factors such as climate and level of insulation, but generally ranges from 30-60 BTUs per square foot.)

Q: In AC Mode, can water be drained to outside?

A: Yes, this model has an auto-drain feature.

Q: How wide a window will this support with the exhaust kit? We have fairly wide windows in the room being considered.

A: The included window kit is 6.5" W x 20" L (minimum), 46" (maximum).

Q: How long is the power cord? Can it be used with a heavy-duty extension cord?

A: The power cord is approximately 6'. A surge protector or extension cord rated for the maximum power of the unit can be used.

Q: Does this unit have an auto fan shut-off?

A: It has a timer function of 1 to 24 hours accessible from panel or remote.

Q: Is this 110?

A: Yes, it is.

Q: Is this noisy

A: I suppose it depends on your tolerance, but we do not find it so. We have had guests twice now who have used it and they thought it was quiet enough. Our granddaughter says it's like a white noise machine which she sleeps with at home.

Q: How long is the vent hose and does it need to be vented for heater use?

A: The heater does have to be vented. At first i didn't like this, but I realized this is preferable as we installed it for summer a/c and have left it installed as we're now using it for the heat. I'm not sure of the exact hose length, but it's not too long as the unit has to sit in front of the window due to hose length.
