Best Overall Gimbal for my Note 20 Ultra
Best gimbal for Note 20 Ultra. It's my go2 with my DJI Mini 3 Pro. Solid feel, great stabilization, compact, and good tracking (see photo). Issues keeping it from 5 is the lack of digital display (love on my DJI RS3 Mini) and charging display.

Zhiyun smooth 5s
So i recently bought a dji om6 for my s23 ultra and it didnt work because it kept toppling over because it was too heavy with and without the case , so i bought a zhiyun smooth 5s and it works great i can use a case on it and the motors are stonger and can record by connecting it to Bluetooth but it has as stronger payload and has lights which the om6 does not have overall so far this is a great product for phones with bigger payloads.

Decent Gimbal, Apps Need Work
The Zhiyun Smooth 5S 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is the latest gimbal release by Zhiyun and will certainly check most boxes for anyone looking for a phone gimbal. I did not have any previous experience with Zhiyun, and can say they do build a decent gimbal. The challenge is in their App(s) that support the gimbal. There are actually 2 apps, ZY Cami and StaCam. I used the ZY Cami App for the purposes of this review. The ZY Cami App provides a number of features but also has buttons and directions written in Mandarin. For someone new to the gimbal, like myself, this can be a bit of a challenge. First Impressions: In the box with the Standard model you get the gimbal, a USB-C charging cable, detachable tripod stand and a user manual. The gimbal is well built and sturdy in hand. There are approximately 7-8 control buttons and switches used to control the gimbal/camera. On initial setup, it can be a bit confusing how to attach and balance the phone; however, after doing it once it becomes a very easy process. My iPhone 13 Pro fit with either the case still attached or removed. For set up, the ZY Cami App needs to be installed and the phone needs to be connected to the gimbal via Bluetooth. My iPhone 13 Pro connected on the first attempt and once connected an update to the App was required. Performance and Usage: Once the gimbal was updated and phone connected, I began learning the layout of the different control buttons and knobs. Overall the controls are easy to learn and within the first couple of uses most operations became second nature. I did have to use both hands in some cases to adjust zoom as I just couldn't reach that control with my shooting hand. The tracking feature became my go to control while filming and it makes for any easy way to film action sports and videos for social media. With that said, the phone can be mounted in portrait and landscape, but it needs to be physically changed in the gimbal and rebalanced. In vertical/portrait mode, the camera works great for Instagram and TikTok filming. In terms of shooting modes, the Smooth 5S includes Pan Follow, Locked, Follow, Point of View and Vortex. There’s also an integrated light that aids in low-light situations and 2 additional lights can be added and magnetically attached. The ZY Cami App does provide some control of the camera with the controls, but I also found it necessary to touch on the phone screen to select between different functions. Pros: - Solid build quality - Easy layout of controls on the gimbal - Integrated light (additional lights available as an option) - Detachable tripod is great for AI filming - Adjustability for most sized phones - Classic 3-axis design Cons: - ZY Cami and StaCam Apps need to be fully translated our of Mandarin - Need to physically change camera from landscape to portrait mode in gimbal Overall the Zhiyun Smooth 5S has been a great gimbal with many features and functions for beginner and advanced film making capabilities. It’s well built and performs as expected therefore I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 3-axis gimbal.
