ASUS - ProArt PZ13 13" OLED 3K Detachable Laptop - Copilot+ PC - Snapdragon X Plus - 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Nano Black

I bought this device because of the OLED display and the fact that it included the lighted keyboard with a trackpad and back stand. The keyboard feel is good, but it is not practical, hard to store, carry around, the whole thing is too heavy, not sturdy for lap usage, you must set it up on a desk or flat sturdy surface, it needs a lot of space, this setup won't work on airplane tray. The PC/Tablet portion is super heavy, it has huge bezels and the display is not color calibrated at all. Colors are super vibrant and punchy, if all you doing is looking at graphics it looks amazing, but if you watching movies, people skin tones look like burned bricks and there is no way to adjust other then the super old windows color controls, or the different ICC profiles which do nothing, everything looks super yellow and super red. Not recommended. You better off with a regular laptop for work, and a regular tablet for media consumption. With this kind of money, you better off getting an Apple MacBook Air, More portable, more power, better battery life, and for sure 100% color accuracy.

Sleek and smooth! The screen is super clear. The processor is super fast. The portability is also cool. I love the army green color and magnetic snap on covers. The design is very thoughtful.

I got the PZ13 mainly for note-taking, and for that purpose, it actually does its job. The pen works well enough to get through classes, write notes, and keep everything organized digitally. It’s responsive most of the time, and once you get into a flow, it feels pretty natural. That said, it’s not perfect. Sometimes the pen input can be a little inconsistent, and palm rejection isn’t always reliable, which can interrupt your writing here and there. A lot of that comes down to Windows—it’s just not as polished for pen and touch as you’d expect from a dedicated tablet experience. Even with those quirks, it still works for what I need. I can take notes, sketch things out, and keep everything in one place without carrying notebooks around. So while it’s a little funky at times, especially because of Windows, it gets the job done for note-taking, which is what I bought it for in the first place.

Detachable laptops are back! The Asus ProArt PZ13 is a very capable machine that doubles as a work and entertainment powerhouse. Want to get work done? - use the keyboard. Want to chill back and relax with some video streaming? - detach the keyboard and use it as a tablet. This device stands out with its impressive specs and absolutely gorgeous display. Connectivity: Since this is a slim device you aren’t getting all the ports, but I do appreciate the inclusion of 2 USB-C ports and even a SD/MicroSD card reader. The ports themselves are really fast (USB 4) so transfering files was a breeze. You can also hook this thing up to some external displays. Display: So close to being perfect! This is a 13.3 inch 3K OLED panel and the quality is absolutely stunning. The size being what it is makes this perfectly usable as a tablet without going overboard. In terms of brightness it gets to around 500-550 nits so it’s decently viewable outdoors. Watching movies on this thing has been the best experience I’ve had on a mobile device like this, especially at night when you can really notice the deep true blacks. The only flaw with this display is when you actually have to navigate around it as it’s capped at 60hz, I feel like I would have preferred a perhaps lower quality LCD display but with 120hz. You get used to everything though. Keyboard: It's detachable so it doesn’t offer keys like a number pad, but I found it more than sufficient for my needs. There’s many shortcuts that are clearly labeled. In terms of typing experience it’s pretty good but nothing crazy as I found the travel distance to be a bit too short which results in it feeling a bit mushy. The trackpad is pretty cool - you can adjust the volume and the brightness of the display using gestures that are easy to understand. I personally always hook up a bluetooth mouse instead of using a trackpad, but it’s nice that it has extra functionality that actually works like it should. The keyboard also folds really easily and flat into the tablet itself if you wish to travel with it. Speakers: The speakers are good but nothing outstanding. For most things you will be listening to the volume is plenty, but lacks much depth and bass. It gets a little better when you listen to Dolby Atmos supported content though. Cameras and microphone: The front camera is pretty good for the occasional snap and especially any video calls - I found that my face looks very clear even in not so good lighting conditions. I can’t say the same for the back camera - It’s fine for the occasional document snap but it’s not clear and lacks any true auto-focus. When in video calls the microphones picked up my voice very clearly even when I was sitting far away, so I’m impressed. Just make sure you’re in a quiet room as they can pick up a bit of background noise. Battery life: First off in terms of standby drain I only lost 3% overnight which is a pretty good result. For the actual battery life with light-medium usage consisting of a lot of web browsing, streaming, and document editing I got about a day and a half of usage. This is all on the balanced power setting. I found that the battery indicator that estimates how much life you have left to be pretty inaccurate as it will constantly fluctuate between estimates by a couple of hours, so I would ignore that and just go based on what your usage usually is. All in all I'm very confident and happy about the battery life. Performance: Powered by a ARM architecture Snapdragon X Plus processor paired with 16GB of RAM this thing is very fast and handles most tasks with ease. I say most because if you’re using anything that’s optimized for ARM then this thing is a dream to use, but anything that’s not yet optimized either runs emulated or doesn’t run at all. Biggest thing for me right now is gaming as a lot of games just straight up won’t work. This device wasn’t created for gaming in mind, but I was hoping I could play some lighter titles and sadly most of them don’t work. This WILL get better over time though as more programs become optimized. Storage: You get a very speedy 1TB SSD that opens programs very fast. Given how much space you get it’s also perfect for uploading any documents/projects onto and not running out of space for a long time. Build quality: I have no issues with build quality or any QC concerns. This thing is just solid which I have come to expect from Asus. It’s also IP52 and military grade tested, so bringing it outdoors in various conditions shouldn’t be a problem. Software: Lastly I wanted to touch on Windows 11 as I found it quite buggy unfortunately. This can improve over time with updates, but as of now I am getting a couple issues, the main one being having to disconnect/connect the device multiple times to force either laptop or tablet mode instead of it switching automatically like it should. Besides the bugs everything works alright granted you’re using ARM optimized apps as I said earlier in the performance section. In terms of AI this comes with Copilot and I’m honestly not one of those people that’s sold on AI, but I did find using Copilot pretty fun and much better than just googling everything. All in all I highly recommend the Asus ProArt PZ13! It’s a device that is very capable out of the box, but which I believe will only get better over time as more apps are optimized for ARM.
