    Good Basic Monitor

This is a pretty basic monitor, but it does the job and works well for its price. It gets decently bright, colors look good, and you get a 144Hz refresh rate with FreeSync. It’s got a nice design with thin bezels on 3 sides. The included stand assembles via 2 Phillips head screws, provides some basic tilt functionality, and has good stability - there’s also a 100x100 VESA mounting pattern. The screen has a matte finish. Around the back there is an HDMI and a VGA input. Included with the monitor is a power adapter and a 5ft HDMI cable. VGA is not something I thought I’d see on a new monitor in 2026, but it could be good for legacy devices. The settings menu can be accessed via a joystick/pushbutton around the back of the monitor. From there, you can make basic picture/color adjustments. I ended up choosing the ‘Graphics’ picture mode, which boosts the contrast and puts the brightness near its maximum. The monitor uses an IPS panel, which are known for good color and viewing angles and that holds true here. There’s no 100% sRGB or anything like that that I can see, so it’s likely not ideal for the type of work that requires that, but to my eye the colors look good, if just a little washed out. 1080p on a 27” display works out to a pretty low pixel density and that shows through in small elements like text, but games still look good from a reasonable distance. This is a good monitor for anyone with an old or entry-level GPU since you won’t have to push as many pixels. The response time feels good at the Normal overdrive setting. Colors are nothing special, but games still look very good and with G-sync enabled you get good motion. If you need a basic monitor that you can game on, this is not a bad choice. There are much better monitors out there, but they’re generally a much higher price.

Decent quality entry level gaming monitor

Picked up this Insignia 27” 144Hz to add to my multi monitor setup in my home office. In the past, Insignia products have proven to me they are decent quality at a good price point. The monitor was packaged well, better than some high dollar TV and monitors I’ve purchased in the past. The box contains the basics, the monitor itself, a stand, power cable, and hdmi cable. Setup was quick and simple and within minutes I had it installed. I use color calibrating hardware/software on my monitors for the image editing I do. At first glance I could tell the color profile was different from my existing 2 monitors. A quick run of my calibration tool had the colors looking perfect and all 3 monitors matching.. Overall physical appearance of the Insignia monitor is good. It looks modern and ‘typical’. It has a very small bezel edge on the left, right and top, with a slightly wider bezel on the bottom. The bottom bezel has a very muted “INSIGNIA” logo to keep the look clean. It’s not big and bright like some that pop out and slap you in the face. The blue power led on the bottom right is also very dim and muted, perfect and not shining in your eye like a laser beam some have.. Off angle viewing is great. I have it installed in the top left of my multi monitor stand and there is no degradation of quality from any normal use angle. I’m not a ‘big’ pc gamer but do play some when the time and mood permits. This is a 144hz monitor and is noticeably better vrs my other monitors in game play. I’m not seeing any lower refresh side effects like I do on my other monitors. This Insignia 27” 144hz does not have speakers built in, not a deal breaker for me, but sometimes it’s nice to have them for when I grab a monitor just for setting up a new pc and need audio. You are limited on inputs with just a VGA and HDMI. A USB C to use this as an external laptop monitor would also be handy, but again, we are working with a ‘budget’ monitor here and it’s not going to have all the bells and whistles. Overall this is a great monitor at the price point in my setup. Good enough that I will be purchasing another one to fill that 4th monitor spot on my setup.

    Go-to Entry Level Value Pick!

Need an office monitor upgrade? How about looking for a viable and useful 2nd monitor setup for a laptop or office PC? What if you just built a PC and are looking for a simple screen to do basic things like surf the web or watch videos? This is the one for you. At this price point, the Insignia 27" IPS monitor offers everything you need to get started. For the size and refresh rate, this is an easy go-to for anyone needing a monitor. In the box, you get a 2-piece stand and a 4.9 ft. HDMI cable to get set up quickly. Everything is plug-and-play, and the display is automatically recognized within Windows or whatever you connect to it. I love the slim bezels, and it looks modern enough for any setup. I was looking for an easy and quick replacement for my office monitor, and I came upon this Insignia IPS display. The price was right, and it is a basic 1080P 16:9 display. The PLUS is that it runs at a faster 144Hz refresh rate, which isn't the norm for this price range. It's LED-backlit, and the picture is crisp and clear, and it does the job. I think it is perfect for home and offices that do not require color-accurate panels. This panel has a slight greenish tint out of the box, but you can correct this easily using the control stick at the lower right corner of the display. The menus are easy to navigate, and there are plenty of presets and profiles to control your picture. The high refresh rate is nice and makes things look crisp and clear. The viewing angles are almost perfect at 178 degrees before losing picture quality. You can tilt up and down on the vertical axis a bit, only up 22 degrees and down -6 degrees. If it is up high, pushing down will remove the glare from the ceiling lights so it can be used as a display for signage. There are only two inputs that offer the ability to switch: VGA and HDMI. This allows you to use old PCs and Laptops or new game consoles. This panel is AMD FreeSync certified but does not support NVIDIA V-Sync. Overall, this is a recommendation for anyone looking for a budget entry-level option for building a PC who values a large viewing area and enjoys crisp and fast displays. The 5ms latency isn't horrible and doesn't interfere with anything you want to do. Whether watching videos, playing on a console, watching DVDs, or streaming from a FireStick or Chromecast, this can handle it all and is recommended for home use and offices alike.

Perfect as a dual monitor set-up

I wanted to get a second monitor for my home/office set-up, and found this one at Best Buy. I have had many Insignia products before and they all have exceeded my expectations while having an affordable price Opening the box after I got it home, I found the packaging to be perfect. Just enough that the product was factory fresh when I opened it, but not too much waste to head to a landfill. The accessories that comes along with it were also neatly organized so that I would not accidentally throw anything away Set-up was a breeze and the Quick Guide was totally unnecessary. I had this up and running in just a few minutes. All the parts needed to get it working were included, and this includes a quality HDMI cord The bezel color on mine is black (not sure if they make other colors?), and the image filled right to the edge. My laptop recognized it immediately, and no updates were required I used the toggle on the back to customize the image, which in my case was to use the blue light filter to ease eye fatigue The screen also had a tilt feature to get the angle right for me and can be seen clearly from wide angles Image wise, it looks perfect as a laptop screen extension and there is little to no lag. The literature on the product also mentions a technology included for gaming that helps with screen flicker, but I did not use it for gaming Overall, a great monitor at a fair price
