The Iris+ is an amazing Quadcopter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is Wow!! Great Quadcopter for a beginner. Ready to fly right out of the box. Minor assembly required; propellers & legs. Charge the battery and you are ready to fly. Go on 3D Robotics YouTube channel and watch the videos, they are very helpful! I suggest a big open field for your first flight. Once I got used to it I bought a Tarot brushless gimbal and a Gopro Hero 4 and mounted it on the Iris+ and the video I captured was amazing. I highly recommend the Iris+

Pro quality, great price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.3d Robotics uses open source design to offer a well thought out, easily modded multirotor platform. Quality components that would be great choices in a custom build, without the hard work of assembling them. The plastic shell feels a little cheap, but most home built quads Have no shell at all, so its just to hide wires. The autonomous flight modes and follow me features just make it better, and crosses the line between filming platform and survey tool. Add a camera gimbal or FPV for quality filming.

AMAZING!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Words can't even begin to explain how awesome the IRIS from 3D Robotics is! It will revolutionize the market, just a matter of time. The ease of setup, intuitive software and sharp appearance all combine to give you the best, from the ground, flight experience man could ask for. Neighbors and kids alike will flock to you when they see you sending this thing into the air. A must have regardless of the price!

Stay with 3D Robotics if your a beginner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never flew a Drone in my life until last January and it was scary spending alot of money that could be gone in seconds but with the education videos and support from 3DR I became pretty good at it and had a great time flying my missions that I decided to get my wife a second Iris+. We now enjoy this hobby together, I'm 63 and she's 61. Jump on the price reduction

Worked great until it flew away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I have been in RC for over 15 years with multiple RC Helicopters so I am in no way new at this. I purchased one of these because I had heard that they are very reliable and that the open source flight software is suppose to be the best, it is far from that. It worked great for about a month with no problems but the software you use to program it is garbage with no really good user interface or directions on how to properly use it unless you go to the web site for it and read through pages of what I would call really poorly written instructions and unless you have some programming experience then it is still hard to understand. Well after a month of use one day I took it out and started to fly it when it started to act a little unstable so I took it in and hooked it to the computer to check it out. I did a compass calibration and then took it back outside where I let it get it's lock and then proceeded to throttle it up when it went full throttle shot into the air and took off west never to be seen again. I looked for it but found nothing, $750.00 wasted and I was left with a junk radio and nothing else. 3DR did nothing and said unless I have the iris+ to send back to them they could do nothing, so I have went back to the old reliable Phantom 2 that has never given me any problems at all.

Not recommended unless you have money to burn
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please take my advice. Customer service is useless at 3DR. I have not received response. Furthermore, can't return back to best buy bc past 30 day return policy. I am now out nearly $1000.00 (drone and gimball) and I regret it completely.
