After re-designing our laundry area, we ended up with a small room for washer/dryer/utility sink. We had front-loaders and decided to go stacked, but stacked front loaders still took up too much space so we went with the Laundry Center. Love it. It's 3.8cu ft vs about 4.5 with front loaders...no big deal. It handled queen comforter. It is a little loud is my only issue. The dryer is fantastic. The cycles of both machines are about the same amount of time, so you can just keep adding loads without much waiting for the dry to open up. Love it.

This is a sturdy & large-volume unit, and it's nice to have a color option other than basic white for people who only have one 220 outlet and a compact laundry space. The washer spin cycle seems especially long, while the dryer cycles are fast and efficient. I can already think of a few improvements: The installers mentioned that some laundry centers allow the venting duct to project from the side, in order to maximize the available space behind the unit. Because this model only allows for it to go straight out the back, it was very hard to fit into our compact condo space... and the duct has already come loose as a result. Why can't manufacturers of these units create an accessory that allows for a tight-space option to the usual large venting duct? Second, the control dial for the dryer cycles is very tight... unnecessarily so. It feels like it's not going to last very long, because it doesn't turn smoothly and easily. I was surprised that it isn't better crafted, with "clicks" to move easily to each cycle. It feels like we have to fight with it to turn it to our preferred selection. Very odd. Finally, the washer makes some odd noises while in the fill cycle. And some of the finish work on the interior plastic pieces could be better - a lot of sharp edges were left on the top of the agitator.

New larger size washer and dryer. Easier to wash king size sheets and other large bulky items in one load. Stackable saves so much room and don't notice any difference between this and a regular side by side W/D. Only complaint is the washer makes a noise that sounds like geese when the agitator runs. Will follow up up on that with GE.
