Q: Can this be used as a ventless range hood?
A: Yes, it can be used as a ventless range hood
A: Yes. We just replaced this few weeks ago. IT IS VENTED OR VENTLESS... You just remove little metal panel covers off top with a screwdriver. New design that hangs out slightly past edge of cabinet to vent without duct venting. The electrician thought we were wrong & it was only for outside vented until we called the store because the instructions didn't show to remove the little metal plate covers. Very simple, took less than a minute to take off.
A: I don't know what charcoal filters are, so I'd have to say no to your question. It has two filters that comes in and out very easily. Can rinse under water or be washed in the dishwasher. The lights are not bulbs! So you never have to change them out! I love that. And their bright. It has 3 light levels. I use the lower one as a kitchen night light and the brightest one to cook with. I'm quit pleased with this hood.

Very pleased
Positives quiet, bright light, two filters Negatives the stainless steel on the front differs from on the sides but it isn't a deal breaker. I am still pleased and it matches the GE Profile stainless steel appliances
