Awesome laptop. No complaints. Big tech guy. I use this for work and it is the best work laptop i've ever used. Asus FTW. It is so lightweight, powers up fast and easy, battery lasts forever. Specs are through the roof.

The ASUS Zenbook S16 is a premium laptop with a stunning 3K OLED display, excellent performance, and plenty of memory for multitasking. The 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD make it great for work, school, Al applications, and everyday use. The laptop feels lightweight for its size, the battery life is impressive, and the touchscreen is responsive. Overall, it offers a great balance of power, portability, and display quality.

I’m truly happy and impressed by this laptop, starting from the packaging all the way down to the smallest details. ASUS clearly paid close attention to the design to make the ZenBook S 16 feel truly premium in terms of both quality and performance. It is noticeable that ASUS did an excellent job with the packaging. The laptop comes in a regular brown cardboard shipping box, while the device itself is housed inside a dedicated slim box that provides excellent protection during shipping and unboxing. The moment I had in my hands, I immediately noticed how lightweight it is. This laptop is razor-thin, sleek, and without a doubt feels premium in both design and build quality. Inside the box, ASUS included a compact power adapter that unlike the usual “large power brick” that many laptops still use which is a plus. The laptop can also be charged through USB-C. The two USB-C ports support Power Delivery (PD). After spending a few hours with the ASUS Zenbook S 16, I can confidently say this laptop impressed me in many ways. ASUS managed to make this laptop feel ultra-thin while still being highly practical for everyday productivity, entertainment, and even creative work without major compromises. It is incredibly thin and light, and the Antrim Gray finish gives it a very premium look. The build quality feels solid. I/O ports are: 2 × USB-C ports that support Power Delivery (PD), display output support as well as high-speed data transfer, 1 × USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, 1 × HDMI 2.1 port, 1 × 3.5mm audio combo jack and surprisingly 1 × full size microSD card reader. The real star of the show is the 3K OLED display. The moment I looked at the screen; it became clear just how stunning it is. Colors are vibrant, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smooth and responsive. Whether I was watching movies, browsing the web, reading documents, or multitasking, the display was super responsive. The touchscreen capability is another great addition that makes browsing and productivity even more convenient. ASUS has equipped this laptop with premium features. Dolby Vision on this OLED screen provides a cinematic experience, sharp details, vibrant colors, and immersive experience that enhanced the streaming content. Not only for videos, but also Dolby Atmos audio transforms the audio into immersive sound quality and enhances movies, music, and entertainment overall. Hardware-wise, the Ryzen AI 400 series processor combined with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB SSD was able to handle everyday workload. Multitasking felt incredibly fast and smooth, applications opened quickly, and the system continued to be responsive even with many tabs and programs running simultaneously. The integrated Radeon graphics deliver great performance for casual gaming and creativity work. The laptops are powered by Wi-Fi 7 and BT 5.4, and both provide me with reliable and stable connections. Another great feature is the Copilot+ PC capability, which allows the laptop to handle local AI-related tasks efficiently while improving overall performance and battery optimization. I especially noticed that the battery life lasted much longer than I initially expected even after long use. In addition, the laptop is equipped with Windows Hello face login that is very responsive and helpful for quick and secure sign in. The keyboard and touchpad are also well designed. Typing feels comfortable, quiet, and premium without being overly loud or noisy, even during long typing sessions. The large touchpad is responsive. That said, one drawback is that under heavy workloads or updates, the fans tend to be noticeably loud, and the heat dissipation from the base can cause uncomfortable feeling when the laptop is sitting on the lap. ASUS also included several exclusive apps that are genuinely useful. MyASUS acts as a central hub for driver and BIOS updates, battery health monitoring, running diagnostics, performance optimization, and OLED care settings. GlideX gives the ability to connect the laptop seamlessly with phones, tablets, or other computers as secondary displays. Overall, my experience with this laptop has been extremely impressive.

It has been a real pleasure becoming familiar with the ASUS Zenbook S16. It's a beautiful and well equipped design with great performance, and the 2880x1800 16" 3K OLED display produces rich, vibrant colors with deep contrast and without the viewing angle limitations of other display types. Unboxing was easy, the laptop is securely and safely packaged for shipping, and setup for Windows 11 Home ran smoothly. The preinstalled MyASUS utility is a very useful and easy to use diagnostic, maintenance and support tool that reports useful system information, checks and updates BIOS and ASUS drivers, and quite a bit more. It was nice to find that this laptop was shipped with the latest BIOS and drivers. The specific laptop model is UM5606GA-ZB/S16_90 and includes an AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 processor with integrated Radeon 880M graphics and a 50 TOPS NPU, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 8533 MHz, and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 7. The laptop has a useful set of external ports including two 40 gb/s USB-C 4 ports, a USB-A 3.2 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a microphone/headphone combo audio jack and a media card slot. It's convenient to have all these physical connectivity options available without a docking station. The laptop has a large, comfortable back-lit keyboard that feels very solid with no flex. The front-facing camera has a built-in microphone and supports 1080p video resolution. The precision touchpad is large and easy to use, and the lower left and right corners have buttons underneath and can be pressed to emulate left and right mouse buttons. ASUS did an amazing job with the Zenbook S16 physical design, it's beautiful and expensive looking. The Antrim gray color goes perfectly with the dark gray keycaps and thin black bezel around the display, and their Ceraluminum material is strong and durable with a smooth matte finish that feels cool and metallic. The laptop is thin and light, and in spite of its limited size and rich complement of physical ports and other internal components, it contains an 83Wh battery that will charge to 50% capacity in 30 minutes. PassMark performance tests were run after completing setup and system updates. CPU, memory and SSD performance scored in the 80th, 58th and 97th percentile respectively. 2D and 3D graphics scored in the 83rd and 42nd percentile, and the overall system score was in the 68th percentile. These scores are generally consistent with other laptops in this class as manufacturers make design decisions to balance performance against power, heat and battery life constraints. The PassMark tests stress CPU, GPU and memory performance, and the grill area above the keyboard got quite warm while they were running. The laptop stayed cool while performing all other activities, including continuous streaming through WiFi. The laptop easily hits my internet service performance limit of 500 Mb/s up and down through its WiFi 7 interface. Unlike Thunderbolt 4, USB-C 4 ports don't necessarily support full speed device operation for non-USB 4 devices. For example, a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 external SSD that is supposed to operate at 20 gb/s will do so connected to a Thunderbolt 4 port, but is allowed to fall back to 10 gb/s when connected to a USB 4 port. Use USB 4 external devices for maximum device performance through USB 4 ports. Battery life appears to be excellent. Starting at 100% charge, the battery dropped to 55% after streaming video through WiFi continuously for 4 hours and 10 minutes. I think that justifies the "all-day battery" marketing claim, as the laptop should support about 8 hours of continuous streaming, and run even longer for other less stressful workloads. The Zenbook S16 is equipped with a great sounding speaker system that produces a surprising amount of volume and low end response. Acoustic instruments sound like they should and it's easy to hear bass lines. The laptop comes with several bundled applications. I used MyASUS for system updates and status, but have not spent time with the other applications. Unlike other platforms I've seen with preinstalled bloatware that nags you with partner offers until you disable or uninstall it, there is none of that with the Zenbook S16. The bundled applications are unobtrusive and stay out of the way if you don't use them. The only very minor complaint I have is with keyboard backlighting. On the keys that have two symbols, a primary character and a smaller shift character in the upper left corner, the shift character is dimly lit compared to the primary character. I think this is a cosmetic issue because people generally know what the key functions are, and while dim and hard to see, the smaller shift character symbol is still visible. Overall I couldn't be more impressed with the Zenbook S16. It is a spectacular combination of appearance, performance and function, with ample connectivity options and a gorgeous 3K OLED screen. There are so many design trade offs and choices to be made, and ASUS did an incredible job specifying and creating this beautiful machine. It's going to be a delight to use in the coming years and I'm eagerly looking forward to it.

Having been a fan and owner of ASUS products for over two decades, I have been anticipating and excited for the release of their 2026 line of new products including this latest edition to the Zenbook S16. Their latest Zenbook model has a premium, ultraportable and durable design developed using military grade 810H standards and patented lightweight Ceraluminum, making it one of the most appealing large-screen Windows AI laptops for everyday productivity, media, and light creative work. One of the first things I noticed out of the box was how incredibly thin and lightweight this Zenbook is weighing a little over three pounds and is only about a half an inch thick when closed making it uber portable. The other stand out aesthetic feature I immediately noticed is the matte Antrim gray colorway that looks almost like granite but is smooth to the touch; I’ve never seen anything like it in another laptop making it standout next to other notebook laptops. The 16” 3K 120Hz ASUS Lumina OLED touchscreen display is absolutely stunning and produces a rich, crystal clear and responsive display. The camera on the screen works great for video chat/meetings as well as enabling the facial recognition feature used for security and unlocking the device. The ports located on the sides of the laptop include two USB-C 4 Thunderbolt ports which are also used for charging, one HDMI 2.1 port, 3.5mm audio jack for headphones, one USB-A port and a SD card reader. In real-world use, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 10-core processor, integrated Radeon graphics, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 1 TB SSD, Bluetooth 5.4 and latest Wi-Fi 7 gives the Zenbook S16 more than enough power, connectivity and storage for multitasking, office work, video calls, web-heavy workflows, and moderate content creation. Although the Zenbook does not have a dedicated graphics card, the integrated Radeon graphics are notably stronger than previous models and older integrated solutions, so light gaming, photo editing, and casual GPU-accelerated work are all realistic. This also helps in the battery department which boasts a 83Wh battery you can charge without a large adapter to 50% in about 30 minutes that should last you hours. That being said, this is still a thin-and-light laptop, not a workstation or gaming machine. The chassis favors quiet operation and mobility over maximum sustained performance, so users with heavy rendering or serious gaming needs may want a more powerful computer with dedicated graphics. It sports a backlit keyboard and a smooth, enlarged smart gesture trackpad with intuitive smart gestures you can use to control video playback, screen brightness, volume, etc. Along the top of the keyboard are six super-linear speakers that deliver loud, clear sound using the built-in smart amplifier, ASUS Audio Booster and Dolby Atmos technology. Perhaps the most useful software feature of this Zenbook is Microsoft Copilot + AI which can assist users in everyday functions but does take some getting used to and discovering all the things that AI can do like researching topics, drafting reports and helping you organize everyday tasks. It also comes preloaded with some useful ASUS software as well including StoryCube which is an AI driven platform you can use to import, organize, edit and create photos, videos, audio, etc. across multiple platforms and is fun to delve into for creators. Overall, the ASUS Zenbook S16 is a polished, premium and super portable laptop that gets the fundamentals right with a stunning touchscreen display, strong all-day performance, and a design that nails exactly what it was intended for. However, as a gamer myself, it does compromise high quality gaming performance for a slim chassis but would be perfect for a non-gamer looking for a quality, well-built laptop.
