Nice Size PC. Good for Basic Tasks

Power isn't everything, but it certainly comes in handy when you're trying to get work done on a computer. For years, I've worked exclusively from a laptop connected to an external monitor and keyboard. I've found that setup makes much more sense for me because I can work remotely when necessary without having to change my entire workspace. That said, a desktop computer still has its advantages. HP's OmniDesk Slim Desktop is a compact machine designed for everyday computing. It comes with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, so those are two specifications you'll want to keep in mind when considering this computer. The AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS processor provides respectable processing capabilities, while the integrated AMD Radeon graphics are suited to everyday tasks and general entertainment. One of the things I like most about this computer is its size. It's remarkably compact and doesn't take up much desk space, making it easy to fit into a variety of workspaces. The included wired keyboard and mouse are functional, but I'd recommend upgrading to wireless peripherals. With a desktop this small, reducing cable clutter makes a lot of sense. While the OmniDesk Slim is a well-built, space-saving machine, I see it as a better fit for everyday home and office computing than for demanding workloads. The 8GB of RAM is a particular concern if you regularly work with multiple applications or keep lots of browser tabs open. I'd like to see 16GB included at this price point. I ran Geekbench 7 to get a better idea of the computer's processing capabilities. The OmniDesk Slim scored 2,056 in single-core testing and 6,911 in multi-core testing. These results suggest that the Ryzen 7 7445HS is reasonably capable for everyday productivity. However, benchmark scores only tell part of the story, and the overall experience also depends on the computer's memory, graphics, and the applications you're running. Even though I firmly believe you don't need a powerhouse of a computer to get things done, I do think the price needs to be competitive with what you're getting. The OmniDesk Slim feels expensive for a system with just 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Its compact design is appealing, but I'd want to see more memory included or a lower price to make it a more compelling purchase. Ultimately, this is a computer I'd consider for someone who needs a small desktop for everyday tasks and values saving space. However, I'd encourage shoppers to compare it with other desktops in the same price range before making a decision.

    THE LITTLE DESKTOP THAT COULD!!!

Bigger isn’t always better, sometimes good things come in small packages, and the HP OmniDesk Slim Desktop is a great example. Its slim design leaves more room on your desk, making it an appealing fit for a home office, a homework station, or a smaller workspace where every inch matters. Features and Usage: Now that we’ve covered the space-saving design, let’s see what the OmniDesk is packing on the inside. With an AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS processor, 8GB of DDR5 memory, and a 512GB SSD, it offers a nice setup for everyday use. Whether you’re working on documents, checking email, browsing the web, or settling in for some entertainment, it’s a practical desktop for a little bit of everything. The 512GB SSD provides space for your programs, documents, photos, and other everyday files, while the processor and memory have handled our family’s daily tasks well so far. I’ve been using it for about a week for office work, my kids have used it for school projects and some gaming, and my wife has put it to use for online shopping. So far, it’s fit right into our routine as a shared family computer. Don’t let the slim design fool you—the OmniDesk has some useful features, including dual-display support. Having two screens makes it easier to keep your work organized and saves you from constantly switching between windows. It’s a nice option for keeping a document on one screen and research, email, or a spreadsheet on the other. You also get the flexibility of both wireless and wired network connectivity. The Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless card provides wireless networking and connections for compatible accessories, while the RJ-45 Ethernet port gives you a wired option. Having both choices makes it easier to set up the desktop wherever it works best for you. Ports Galore: For a slim desktop, the connection options are a definite highlight. You get: • 1 headphone/microphone combo port • 5 USB Type-A ports with a 5Gbps • 1 USB Type-C port with a 10Gbps • 2 USB 2.0 Type-A ports • 1 HDMI 2.1 port • 2 DisplayPort 1.4a ports • 1 RJ-45 Ethernet port • 1 3.5mm audio jack (line-out) That’s a useful selection for connecting monitors, a printer, external storage, headphones, and other everyday accessories. Having both USB-A and USB-C is a welcome touch, and the separate audio connections give you options for headphones, a microphone, or speakers. Overall: The HP OmniDesk Slim Desktop has a lot to offer in a compact package. It doesn’t take up much desk space, and it’s handled our mix of office work, school projects, online shopping, entertainment, and some gaming well during our first week with it. For our family, it’s been a practical everyday computer that fits both our workspace and our routine. If you are in the market for an everyday computer, then this is it.

    Decent entry level business desktop

This is a space saving business grade desktop, and it does not pretend otherwise. That is not a bad thing provided you are looking for that sort of device. It has decent specs with a Ryzen 7 processor, WiFi 6, 512gb SSD, but only a painful 8GB of ram that gets eaten up quickly by memory hungry apps like Chrome which can cause noticeable lag at times. The WiFi card is not terribly impressive either, with poor performance compared to my laptop in the same space. It has plenty of ports and can utilize two monitors simultaneously as long as one is HDMI and the other is DP. The included mouse and keyboard are basic but decent particularly the keyboard which has a nice feel to the buttons and doesn’t come across too cheap. It includes a power cable, the aforementioned wired mouse and keyboard, and that’s about it. Setup is typical for Windows 11, requiring a Microsoft account login, updates, and removal of the preinstalled bloatware before it can really be utilized properly. Since then it has been smooth other than the memory and WiFi limitations but it does the intended job and that’s what I needed it for. I’d recommend it for business use, but for a personal computer you might want to look elsewhere for anything other than web browsing and productivity apps.

Easy Setup, Great for Every Day Use

This desktop is a true plug‑and‑play machine that delivers smooth everyday performance once fully set up. It doesn’t include a monitor, but it does come with a wired keyboard and mouse, which you can upgrade to wireless later. Initial setup takes some time due to multiple Windows updates, but afterward the system runs well and offers built‑in WiFi for quick internet access. This particular model comes with AMD Ryzen 7, 8GB DDR5 memory and 512GB of storage. A few apps like the Getting Started guide and Phone Link, did crash during my initial usage, though they worked normally after reopening. The desktop is responsive, customizable, and ideal for browsing, email, video streaming, school or work. Note that it has no built‑in speakers, so you’ll need external speakers or headphones. With seven USB‑A ports, one USB‑C, HDMI, and two DisplayPorts, it’s well‑equipped for peripherals and multiple monitors. Overall, it’s a solid home computer for everyday use. Very capable and with the slim form factor it can be placed in small tight areas. It is easy to set up and use, it just does not come with a monitor.

    New PC

I like the unit so far. Seems to be working as it should. Geek Squad transferred data from old computer. I had a difficult time finding it. At first only found about 30 files. then found, with file explorer, the rest of the saved files. I had backed them up on a portable hard drive, but DID NOT want to go to the hassle of transferring that way. I am not a fan of the keyboard included with the unit. Previous pc had a wireless mouse and keyboard which worked well. This unit seems smaller and I keep hitting the caps key. May try the wireless from old unit if I do not get used to this one.
