Description

This single-layered DVD version of the '80s film comes in two picture formats -- widescreen anamorphic (1.85:1 aspect ratio) and standard full-screen (1.33:1 aspect ratio) -- plus the following audio track options: English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and Spanish, with subtitles available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, and Thai. Closed captioning is also included. Special or bonus features include an audio commentary narrated by the film's director, a featurette-documentary called "March to Freedom" narrated by Paul Winfield, some production notes, and the usual original theatrical trailers. Picture quality is crisp and natural-looking, but sound quality is what might be expected from an unremastered Dolby 2.0 Surround, much of which comes off as mono.

Not Your Average War Movie

Howard Rollins, Jr. was excellent in this movie. He plays an African American officer sent to the South to investigate a murder of an African American soldier. Excellent acting by well known actors. Terrible waste that Howard Rollins ended up killing himself later in life. He was a great actor!!
