I shopped around for a fast, reliable computer and -- after reading many reviews -- opted for this Acer. The price, memory and speed were just right. Setup was quick and easy despite no user manual in the box. However, I have to fault Acer on four things: 1) I wanted a computer with expansion slots and the specs said there were two available; little did I know that the slots were pretty impossible to access and use (one has no knockouts, the other is already used). 2) The internal CD/DVD burner sits sideways, which makes it awkward to use; also it's pretty junky and I'm buying an external drive. 3) A few times I've had start-up problems -- the computer just hangs -- and several calls to tech support proved useless. I was told to ship it back to Acer. I was unhappy with that advice, called back, got anaother tech support person who advised me that these units were susceptible to static electricity and that I should discharge it by unplugging the unit from the wall. Bingo, that did the trick. Which leads me to 4) Tech support is the worst. Farmed out to India and the techs are pretty inane and not very knowledgeable. When I was trying to get info on the expansion slots, I had to escalate the matter to corporate in the States. Aside from this, I'm pretty happy with the speed of the computer. I hope the unit is as reliable as all the online reviews indicate.

I've used it now for a couple of months and have been pretty impressed with the speed and reliability. Huge hard drive, ample RAM with space for easy expansion if need be later. I'm not a big fan of Windows 8.1 and expected a difficult learning curve after being with Vista for so long, but it worked well out of the box and I've been cruising fine. No real issues to report.

At this price point you typically have to settle for a lower performance CPU such as the Intel Pentium or AMD A4. This system has pretty solid performance thanks to the i3 CPU and decent amount of RAM. I'm not a fan of small form factor PCs because the PSU and sometimes other components will be cost prohibitive to find replacements for if they die on you but at this price I'm not to worried. Its been a while since I've setup a new Acer/Gateway/Emachines system but they are still loaded with a ton of garbage software from the factory (just like pretty much every other brand). After removing the bloatware and doing some initial updates (out of the box expect to have around 150 windows updates to install...) its running like a champ.

This is an excellent computer, particularly if you're moving from a laptop. I couldn't be happier with the machine. Plenty of speed for normal daily activities, though I don't do any gaming.
I suggest getting rid of all the bloat-ware that comes with this. Acer has their own cloud services, which for some reason are divided into 4-5 different programs. All of those things slow down the machine, but are easy to uninstall.
The big issue I had was with McAfee. There were times when I was listening to music and surfing the internet, and the system would just freeze for about 30 seconds (totally nonresponsive, playing the same split-second of music the entire time). After uninstalling McAfee and letting Windows Defender take over, I don't have the issue any more.

Caught this desktop on sale during a 4 hour sale! Extremely fast dual core processor with plenty of ram and storage. Even the built in Intel hd4400 graphics does well for casual gaming, HD video, and photos. Very nice for $150!

Computer works great, no lag switching between programs. Easy set up. I would rate it a 5, but windows 8 is awful, I'd rather use Windows vista. Great but try to get a different windows program.
A:It has two ram slots. You would have to replace both the 4gb and 2gb ram sticks included with it, with two sticks of 8gb ram. The fastest ram the CPU can use is 1600mhz.
A:This tower has a 220W power supply and 1 PCI Express x1 slot, 1 PCI Express x16 slot and 1 mini PCI Express slot as per its Acer product page:
