Phone for mom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Tracfone phone was a gift for my elderly mom. She is not a techie person and just wanted to make phone calls. Once she was trained to use the phone (remember not techie) she finally had the freedom and safety to have her own phone anytime anywhere. That was a great feeling for her. She really likes it!

Great Camera for Seniors
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only complaint is the display screen does not show minutes and days remaining on current TracFone contract like my LG 440G TracFone Cellular Phone Prepaid Flip Cell does on my other line.

Simple and safe 1st phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this phone for my youngest son as his 1st phone, and it does the trick. He's pretty rough with handheld electronics, so I did not want to buy something too expensive, and that he'd break pretty quick. Even though it is a flip phone, it still provides for some of the basic sets of functionality a communication device needs. The numbers are large and easy to see, no real need for a case to protect the screen since it is a flip, and the interface is simple but intuitive. If he can make it last at least 12 months, we got our money's worth out of the device. The TracFone service plan is where the bulk of the money went... c'mon TracFone, make your prices a little more respectable for the service you offer. This is NOT a "triple or double for life" phone... straight up basic pre-paid phone plans.

Nice simple phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am liking this phone more than I thought I would. I had a smart phone that suddenly decided to hang up on an OS update right before a trip. I bought this phone to have something to use. Now that I have it, I appreciate the simplicity of a phone that just acts like a phone. I bought it with the TracFone 60 minute 90 day card. I was pleased to find that it actually gave me 180 minutes and 180 Mb of data. Some of the TracFone phones do the 3x deal. I'm glad this one did. It makes it affordable enough to use as a regular phone. I almost bought a TracFone smart phone because they offer 500 minutes and 500 Mb for 30 days at a cost of $15 (versus $20 for the 60 minutes of this phone). If I keep getting 180 minutes with each refill, I will be very happy. Otherwise, it is a nice emergency phone, but not much more. I did have a little trouble navigating the initial set-up because the instructions that come with the phone lack even basic details, like how to switch case when entering a Wi-Fi password. However, the tech support was fairly helpful.

great flip camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't use a cell phone much, so this inexpensive flip phone was just what I needed. If I had one thing to complain about, it's the button on the side that puts the phone in camera mode. It's too easy to accidentally hit the button while using the phone and suddenly have the phone screen displaying everything the camera lens sees. Fortunately pressing the 'back' button twice quickly exits the camera mode. The sound quality is quite good when using the phone. The buttons on the phone large and easy to use. The documentation that comes with the phone could be better as finding out how to add contacts in the phone is a bit tricky to figure out. All in all it's a good price for someone who needs a cell phone for emergency use only. Paired with Tracfone 60 minutes for 90 days for about $20, it's quite a good deal.

Reliable inexpensive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reliable cheap phone that works as stated. Nothing fancy. Not intended for heavy web browsing and not a smart phone. A basic, simple, flip phone best for older individuals

Q: QuestionDo I need to purchase a plan for this phone, or does it have a certain amount of hours that get used up and then the phone goes into the garbage?
Asked by Porter.
- A:Answer You need to buy a minutes card every 90 days. With this phone if you buy a 60 minute card for $20 you get triple minutes, so you get 180 talk minutes & 180 text messages! I like the tracphones because you don’t need a monthly plan.

Q: QuestionI'm 74 and totally new at this, having only a landline & antenna TV. I wanted this phone in case of an emergency. Where does the phone indicate that the battery needs to be recharged? How long will it take?
Asked by Carol.
- A:Answer Carol, never too old to learn. I purchased this phone for my 73 year old husband and he uses it like you, for emergency use as we too have a landline. The charge level indicator is in the upper right hand corner. On this phone in the upper right corner will be the time then to left of that is the charge level then the coverage i.e. 4 G Lite and last the signal strength.. Our only gripe is all this information is in white against a light blue background and in a well lit area or outside would make it difficult to see. If you go to a room where there is no direct light you will see this information. There are only two TracFone flip phones Verizon cellular will support after December 31 of this year, this one and another one and this appeared based on others reviews to be best. Hope this has helped you out.

Q: QuestionDoes this phone have internet capabilities? We do not want a phone that has internet. Thanks.
Asked by Neat.
- A:Answer I think all phones have internet capibilities. How ever my mom has an alcatel flip phone from consumer cellular and told them she did not want it when she said it up. All her phone does is makes and receives phone calls.

Q: QuestionCan I switch minutes from my old trac fone??
Asked by charlie.
- A:Answer Sure you can but if it is from a tracfone smartphone, tracfone has to change the amount that goes to a feature phone which you would probably end up with 1/3 of your minutes but keep all your time. If it is from a feature phone exact amounts will transfer. you can transfer from a call to us, our online page www.tracfone.com or also online @ our page via a chat which most customers like doing because they can get there balances to later verify new device and balances were correctly transferred. We may have different policy with this new phone because it has internet text and minutes and will be counted as a smartphone.

Q: QuestionMy tracfone that was basic only talk and texted was the best! I am just wondering if, this phone has the double/triple minutes on it like I had with my others... I wish I wasn’t forced into buying another phone a couple yrs ago. I just want basic talk/txt
Asked by Curious.
- A:Answer Hi. This is Mae from TracFone Wireless. All TracFone Smartphone releases will no longer have Triple Minute Plan benefits. Existing handsets will still have the same benefits including Auto-Refill plan. However, as an incentive to customers, all TracFone customers upgrade from a feature phone to Smartphone will get the Triple Minute benefit as a promotion for upgrading to a new Smartphone. Also, if customers currently have the Triple Minute on their Smartphone, it will be transferred to the new Smartphone.
