Now in a Space Gray finish. Magic Trackpad 2 is rechargeable with a built-in battery and brings Force Touch to the desktop for the first time. Four force sensors underneath the trackpad surface allow you to click anywhere, and detect subtle differences in the amount of pressure you apply, bringing increased functionality to your fingertips and enabling a deeper connection to your content. Magic Trackpad 2 also features an edge-to-edge glass surface area that is nearly 30 percent larger than the previous trackpad. This design, along with a lower profile, makes scrolling and swiping through your favorite content more productive and comfortable than ever. Magic Trackpad 2 pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work right away. And the battery will power your Magic Trackpad 2 for about a month or more before needing a recharge.
A: No. It is similar to a touch pad on the laptop. You slide your finger(s) across the surface to move the cursor, fields, etc. You can use other gestures and press movements to open menus typically associated with the mouse or changing screens. I place it next to the keyboard and use it in place of the mouse. It is much more effective than the mouse without the wide range of movements the mouse requires for a 27" monitor.
Q: Can the apple magicpad work well windows 10
A: Well... It is kinda complicated. If the purpose is to use a trackpad on a Windows-only PC, then don't consider this trackpad. You need to install special software which makes it barely work with a few gestures. If you don't install the software, it only accepts clicks, no gestures whatsoever. However, if you are on a Mac and using Bootcamp to run Windows 10, then the trackpad works fine. So it really depends on the scenario.
Q: Can you turn off bluetooth and just use the trackpad with the USB cable?
A: When the trackpad is on the USB cable (charging mode), its Bluetooth capability is turned off but it is still fully functional as a pointing device.
Q: Can you use it with a iPad Pro?
A: Yes, this unit will work with an iPad Pro.
Q: Can the trackpad be used with a Mac Mini?
A: Yes...I’m currently using my 2nd gen Magic Trackpad with a 2012 Mac Mini. Even though Apple says you need a newer Mac with Bluetooth 4.0 it still worked fine with my older Mac. Just plugged it in using the USB cable to to Mac, and it synced up immediately, and has been working fine wireless ever since. I think the requirement for BT4.0 is actually due to BT4.0 being better with power...so their battery life ratings require it.
Q: Does this have all the capabilities of a force touch trackpad (like on the MacBook Pro)?
A: Yes, it's EVERYTHING you get from a current model MacBook Pro tackpad.
Q: I have a iMac 2012 will the track pad 2 work with this old computer
A: Works on my 2007 iMac
A: The track pad pairs with the imac, so it shouldn't be an issue. You can use any keyboard you like.
