Cool Game, but...
It was a gift for my wife. She was very excited to assemble the Pong table. Playing the games would bring back some childhood memories. We have a stand up Ms. Pac Man and Galaga from Arcade 1 Up, so what could go wrong. After assembly, we noticed smearing all over the screen so I got a cloth to wipe off. The dirty smearing would not come off the plexiglass. The protective film was removed, so we took off the plexiglass to clean the monitor screen. It would not come clean as well. The smearing was on the underside of the monitor screen and not accessible. I contacted Arcade 1 Up to file a claim. After going back and forth by email correspondence for a few weeks and providing pics, they said a replacement monitor/top piece would be sent. They sent the top console piece with NO monitor! I contacted them and they said a complete top piece including monitor could not be sent and my only option was to return or live with the defective product. The length of time it took going back and forth to resolve, it brought us up to the deadline to return Christmas items at Best Buy. I contacted Best Buy to exchange the product and not lose the Black Friday pricing, but they said I could only return because I ordered online and picked up the product at the store. If I ordered online and had it shipped to my house, they could do it. The other option to exchange was to return to the store, but since we received the final decision from Arcade 1 Up on the final day of return period and the stores were already closed, we had to opt for a return only and lose out on the Black Friday pricing. Since the current price was $200 more than I paid, we decided to go Pongless...what a shame. I don't know if this is a common defect with this particular product, but we would have tried another if given a better resolution.
