Around the World in 80 Days DVD.
Posted .I originally saw this movie when I was 7 or 8 years old at the historic Cathay Circle Theater in West L.A. I was glad to find the DVD. The DVD brought back that memorable evening. The elegant old theater was stupidly torn down in the 70's. The movie featured a who's who of old Hollywood---e.g. Buster Keaton and others in cameos. The main character who stole the movie was the Mexican actor Cantinflas. He was brilliant in his comic role. David Niven was perfect in the starring role. The movie was made with Todd A-O film with picture size "widening" enhancement. It still looks good today. Michael Todd was a great film maker and showman. Unfortunately, he was killed in a plane crash in the late 1950's. The film holds up very well for its vintage.
