A timeless classic with a stunning transfer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you haven't seen this Disney classic, you're probably living under a rock. It's essentially a tale about growing up and perseverance in the face of adversity told through the lens of a young buck named Bambi. In terms of the transfer, this blu-ray disc is actually the same transfer as the Diamond Edition from a few years back. Short of any possible future 4k UHD release, this is still the best this movie could ever look on home video. This 1080p disc extracts every last nuance of hand-brushed detail that the 1080p blu-ray format can muster. The colors are vibrant, yet natural. Detail is pristine and is only limited by the sometimes intentionally soft look of certain scenes. If you have a 4k TV, the upscaled image is a real treat. The available Disneyview panels that fill the ugly 4:3 ratio vertical black bars are super-tasteful and are perfectly matched to their respective scenes. As for the sound, the 7.1 DTS-HDMA is surprisingly full and engaging, especially considering its age. Bass is quite solid and the rear channels are quite active, with considerably more left/right and rear channel activity than Pinocchio or Snow White which are much more center-channel-heavy tracks (understandable considering they were from 1937 and 1939, respectively. Fantasia - also from '39 - of course had it's very own special 'surround sound' process). If you didn't pick this up when it was first released on blu-ray a few years back, you owe it to yourself to do so right now!

A Nice Re-release of a Classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As this rendition of the beloved Disney classic includes the exact same encode as the previous Diamond Release, there is no improvement (or degradation) to the video quality. It is a shame that the audio quality was not changed from a lossy format (DTS-HR) to a lossless format (DTS-MA) for this new release, since the DTS-MA has become the standard for most Disney releases. That said, this release includes most, if not all, of the bonus features from the previous release as well as some new features. It's not enough to be worth double-dipping if you own the Diamond Edition, but if you don't yet own this movie, this is the perfect time to pick it up.

The beloved classic returns from the vault!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bambi is one of the greatest animated features of all time. The story, the animation, the music, and the characters, especially Thumper, are all outstanding. This 75 year old film stands the test of time and is essential viewing for film fans, animation fans, and casual viewers. The Blu-ray combo pack of this Walt Disney Signature Collection release contains almost all of the bonus features from the original Diamond Collection Blu-ray and adds even more new features. Additionally, a collectible lithograph from Disney artist Tyrus Wong is included in the package. The video and audio are great, although it does retain the DTS-HR audio track from the Diamond Edition. On the other hand, the original RKO title card missing from the Diamond Edition has been restored in this version. This film should be passed down to every new generation. With a wealth of bonus features and great A/V, this timeless classic is a must own.

Great Addition to the Collection!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a Disney fan I needed to just collect the classics. For years I missed out on the other previous Disney Blu-ray releases but with the new Signature Collection it was another chance! Yes, unfortunately Disney films rarely ever go down in price unless you're looking at the not-so-big films. For newer releases you're looking at a price of at least $24.99 or $19.99 if you're lucky. Though its well worth it! Film is a classic, still holds up and still impacts like it always has. Picture and Sound quality is the best its ever been and the features have been plentiful. A must own!

Bambi (The Walt Disney Signature Collection)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a re-released blu-ray of Bambi for The Walt Disney Signature Collection, which was previously released by Disney for the Diamond Edition. Plain blue disc art for the blu-ray (while the Diamond Edition blu-ray had disc art), but this newly re-released version does contain new bonus features that were not included in the previous Diamond Edition release. Picture and audio quality are excellent. The only difference between the Best Buy exclusive and the standard blu-ray release is that the Best Buy exclusive comes with a lenticular slipcover (the artwork for the blu-ray case is the same as the standard slipcover artwork). All of these blu-rays come with a collectible Tyrus Wong lithograph inside.

The Best Buy Exclusive slipcover is A+++
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once again Best buy has by far been the best place for me to buy my Disney movies from. The movies are classics but the exclusive slipcover makes the appearance so much better. The prices are great and the customer service is amazing. I will only be buying my Disney movies from best buy from now on since this is the 4th time I have ordered from them and each time the exclusive slipcovers and cases are so much prettier then anywhere else so unless the normal cardboard slipcover is the only thing available I will pre order from best buy every time. Movie is great, prices are great and customer service is great. i cant think of a single negative thing to say about the products and store in general A+++
