    Synopsis

    Be Kind Rewind
When a bumbling movie lover becomes magnetized while attempting to sabotage a local power plant and accidentally erases all of the videotapes in the small video store where his best friend works, the pair attempt to keep the store's loyal customer base by remaking as many of the top-renting movies as possible. Mike (Mos Def) is an employee at Be Kind Rewind, a modest mom and pop video store that is owned by Mr. Fletcher (Danny Glover). Mike's best friend Jerry (Jack Black) works in an auto garage/junkyard directly adjacent to a local power plant. Lately Jerry has become increasingly paranoid about the effects that the power plant is having on his health. Convinced that he has developed a brain tumor from working in such close proximity to the power plant, Jerry attempts to sabotage the plant. Unfortunately for Jerry, his brain is magnetized in the process. The next time Jerry goes to visit Mike at Be Kind Rewind, the powerful magnetization emanating from his brain erases every videotape in the store. Now the only way for Mike and Jerry to be sure that Be Kind Rewind stays in business is to remake every film on the shelves before the customers notice. But when word gets out that Mike and Jerry have remade such Hollywood classics as Back to the Future, Robocop, The Lion King, and Rush Hour without permission, the store is threatened with copyright violations and forced to close its doors. In the aftermath of the closing, Mr. Fletcher and his employees discover just how loyal their customers really are when the entire neighborhood pools their resources to transform the junkyard into a legitimate movie studio and produce an entirely original film detailing the incredible adventures of a local jazz legend. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This was my new release Tuesday purchase for the week. I somewhat heard about the movie prior to its theater release, but wasn't sold on watching it in theaters so I waited on it in Blu-Ray. The movie had a good concept of Mos Def and Jack Black having to recreate classic films such Ghostbusters, Boyz in the Hood, Driving Ms. Daisy, etc. to save a video store in New Jersey. In a sense a lot of the movie seems like an amateur reproduction of these movies. The movie as a whole was quite entertaining, but in all honesty it wasn't mindblowingly brilliant. The concept of this movie had so much potential, but it really came down to two characters making rip offs of movies for the most part. I still recommend this title, but that's only if you're main objective in watching this movie is to be entertained. Serious movie critics can steer clear of this title.

this was a good movie. i was excited to see it not only because i love jack blck, but becaus the movie itsself actually looked good. every part of the movie was good, except i didnt like how much that jazz guy that "used to live in the neighborhood" was mentioned int the movie. so the ending wasnt that great, but the movie overall was pretty good.

So I bought this movie primarily because I had seen some trailers and I have always been a fan of Jack Black. If I could go back I would have just rented this movie instead of buying. Don't get me wrong it does have some funny jack black moments, but for the most part it just didnt hold my attention. Definitly worth renting, but I wouldnt recommend buying this movie.

This is about a movie store that the owner is away and he leaves it to his employee. While he is gone movies get erased and they try to reshoot all the movies like "GhostBusters" and "Rush Hour2". It is a must see and I highly recemend this movie, and I hope this review has helped you in deciding whether or not to buy this film.

This film is so much fun to watch multiple times. A classic in my opinion. The transfer looks good but you can tell it was lower budget to begin with and that the transfer could have been a little better. Overall, a solid buy.

Being totally honest, I was kind of let down with this movie. I think I expected too much of the film after watching the previews. However, parts of this movie were hilarious. Of all the movies that they "SWEDED", "Ghostbusters" and "Driving Miss Daisy" were my favorites. This movie is worth watching at least once.

Watching the trailers, you have no idea that this movie is going to be a lot about Fats Waller, a legendary jazz musician. It definitely was not what I expected, but it was okay. Don't think I will watch it again. The plot wasn't all that believable either.

IF PEOPLE WERE REALLY DUMB THAN THIS MOVIE WOULD MAKE SENSE-IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY-JACK BLACK IS A LITTLE FUNNY BUT THE STORY HAS TO BE A LITTLE BELIEVABLE TO BE GOOD-IT'S SLOW AND DUMB AND NOT VERY FUNNY-SKIP IT
