Great looking stands, bolt your 700 stand mounts!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.OK $500 is a little steep, even if you are mounting $2500 speakers on them. But...they are so Bowers and Wilkins sophisticated stylish, heavy, stable and ready to let you bolt your 700 stand mounts to them. I filled mine with sand as per the instructions..please use kiln dried sand! Then I assembled them and used the included hardware to bolt my 705 S2's to them. I feel much better knowing that my speakers won't fall off and the bass improvement is nice too. The 705 S2 and stand combo looks and sounds like the best Bowers and Wilkins has to offer. I do wish they weren't $500, but i don't see any other really good choice for the 700 stand mount speakers.

Just buy them.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I know, I know. Pricey. I thought the same. I own the Stav stand and thought about using it instead for my 706s2. But reluctantly got these instead. Boy am I happy. The look good! Compliments the speakers. You run the chance of regretting not getting them. But you won’t regret getting them.

Piece of Art
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I was reluctant to purchase these stands initially due to their cost. Also, I already had stands, but they were no match for these beauties, plus they provide stability for my 705S2s once bolted onto the stand. If you can afford the B&W speakers, then do yourself a favor and purchase these, you won’t regret it. Highly recommended. Peace and blessings, Azeke

Must have for 705 S2's
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.CORRECTION to add for these speaker stands: For $500.00, you get 2 stands in the same box. Not a bad deal @ 500.00 for 2 of them. BB add a little confusing. Stands are heavy enough so I didn't have to fill them with sand. Seem plenty stable. Happy with purchase. You just need some kind of mount, at least in my situation.

Q: QuestionCan I fasten/attach by screw, a pair of b&w 705 Signature speakers to these stands (as opposed to blu-tacking them on)
Asked by Echa.
- A:Answer Yes you can. Both the stands and speakers come with mounting points and the stands come with bolts to secure the speakers to the stands. If you want to take performance and stability to the next level, the stands can be filled with clean, dry play stand. Really improves the bass and smooths out the midrange as the sand dampens the aluminum columns in the stands and adds mass.

Q: QuestionAnyone know how much sand it takes to fill two of these?
Asked by PaulW.
- A:Answer About 20 lb of dry sand per pair.

Q: QuestionWhat is the bolt pattern spacing for the 706s2, can't seem to find them and local store seemed to only have 705s2 or 707s2 which were drastically different spacing due to size of cabinet. Not in any of the technical documents available from B&W.
Asked by aodeymt.
- A:Answer Front to back, 6.5" on the center. Side to side, 5.3" on the center.

Q: QuestionIs it 10 lbs of dry sand per stand? How much sand for the center channel stand?
Asked by Tobin.
- A:Answer I used ~ 50 for the STAV 24 for reference. Bought 60lb bag. 10lbs left.

Q: QuestionBased on the manual I found, it looks like you screw the speakers to this stand. I don't see any screw holes in my speaker bottom though. Are you supposed to make holes?
Asked by Gizmo.
- A:Answer Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series bookshelf speakers have threaded holes on the bottom of the speakers that allow you to bolt them to the top of these stands. These are the only speakers that will work with these stands in that manner, right out of the box. For all other speakers, we'd advise using 4 dime sized thin pieces of blu-tac to attach the speakers to the stands.

Q: QuestionSo there is Stand for 700 series ($599) and Stand for 600 series ($199) what are the differences? Can I use 600 series stand for 700 series speakers? I own 707 S2
Asked by wakazo.
- A:Answer The principal differences between the two stands are cosmetic (the FS-700S2 matches the look of 700 Series) and attachment (the FS-700S2 allows the 700 Series speakers to be bolted onto the top of the stand and includes the necessary hardware. The STAV24 does not.)
