I've used Braun razors since I started shaving 25 years ago and have been beyond pleased with the performance of the razors and the closeness of the shave. I just upgraded to this razor because the last one finally gave up the ghost after being used daily for the past 16 years. This model appears fundamentally the same as the previous version but has the added benefits of wet/dry usage and a l-ion battery. Oh, I almost forgot, it includes a removable plastic shield to protect the foil face which is a must have to prolong the life of the replaceable foil/blade combo. I lost the one that came with my old razor years ago and contribute not having it too early replacement of two foil faced units due to dings that were caught in the razor blades once the power was flipped on. This is something you definitely don't want to have happen because these replacement sets cost between $30 - $40. All in all I can say with certainty that Braun doesn't make a bad product. You won't be sorry with this razor. PS - My wife bought me a Norelco three disk razor when my Braun died which was the first I'd ever used. I tried it twice and promptly replaced it with this new Braun. There's no comparison.

I have a few shavers, a Braun 7 series for dry shaver and a Norelco wet/dry shaver that I could no longer get the original shaver heads for. I had read very poor reviews of the newer replacement Norelco shaversand also looked at the new shavers, not as well constructed. Finally Braun came out with this unit, glad I waited it does a good job with wet shave in the shower ( don't use it for dry shave) not quite as effective as the old Norelco unit but good enough. Also reasonably priced then any Norelco that I would have considered. ... and Best Buy local store had this in stock.

I wanted a new razor since I don't think my old one is supported anymore in terms of replacement heads, and they were wearing out. This one is fast, comfortable, and close. I like it better than my old one, even when that one was new.

Always had Norelco before, but decided to try a Braun. I really enjoy how smooth is shaves. No cuts or ripped hair off my face, plus the battery lasts a long time on a charge. I am happy with my purchase.

Got tired of mediocre shave from my Norelco. Had used Norelco for many years, this last one was poor, got no interested response from their customer service. Braun is much better, closer shave, although could be a bit closer. Trimmer is excellent, would recommend it.
